I am still in Jamaica & having the privilige to tour some of Playa's great properties with the fabulous Andi Bacho!
Today we toured a property that I have had the pleasure of staying at TWICE. Welcome to Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.
This property holds a special place in my heart for 2 reasons... this is the property where Tom proposed to me and upon returning this week, many of the same staff are still at the property, they remembered me and welcomed me SO warmly!
Some of the great features of Jewel Paradise Cove is that it is an adults only property, has a delicious jerk shack on the beach, they have a piano bar where you can sing along (my favourite spot!), there is a daily free glass bottom boat ride (weather permitting) that you sail over a boat & plane wreck, pickleball courts... and of course, the warm & gracious staff!
Insider tip... book the Emerald Lagoon building & request a ground floor room... it is like having a swimout suite without the price tag!

So pretty much all the Sandals properties blew me away... the service, grounds, food, decor, amenities... every time I thought I found "the one"... another would knock it off the shelf...

Well, Sandals South Coast has been "home" for the tail end of this whirlwind trip & this property is perfect for me... maybe for you too. I just know that I am coming back to Sandals South Coast... so special here!

Reasons?
- Beach steps nearby, and just wonderful
- Great ... no, AMAZING...dining options!
- QUIET pools... I hate loud music & mics & forced activity
- super amazing intimate balcony set ups
- lovely renovated rooms
- by FAR (and let me preface this with the fact every Sandals staff at EVERY property has been WONDERFUL)...outstanding staff here who are just so genuine & gracious
- love pickleball... MULTIPLE courts, croquet ...yup that too!
- another over water wedding chapel
- FOOD TRUCKS!!!!!
- the chill unplugged secluded relaxed zen vibe of this property is unreal
If the above sounds like what you need (trust me - you do!)... pm me... but I am super reluctant to let the world know about this gem! That is when you know a property feels like HOME!

Now here is an almost boutique sized property with a VIBE... one pool lively with great music & entertainment, chill beach, lush gorgeous flora & fauna everywhere, SEVEN MILE BEACH, swim out rooms... oh did I mention absolutely outstanding food like Lobster Wellington?! Sandals Negril is truly a full on vibe ... casual but fun... the more Sandals properties I see, the more I understand which ones fit my clients perfectly! This was my little girl I read with at the Sandals Foundation.
At the end of the visit, she would NOT let me go... she was crying & if you know me at all, you know I was crying too.
Later that day, at Sandals Ochi, one of the staff who volunteered that day saw me & said "You!" and she pointed at me. "You had the little girl who would not let you go & who was crying!"
The staff member proceeded to tell me how meaningful these Sandals Foundations visits were to these children. Parents/single parents working shift work just to put food on the table coming home exhausted from simply providing, without the energy or time sadly to do little things like read and draw and talk... the staff member told me that these visits are often the only time some of the children get quality one-on-one attention & affection... and I felt it.
The next day, another Sandals staff member told me my girl was inconsolable for 30 minutes after I left, asking if I would ever come back to see her... or would I forget her.
I will NOT forget her & have decided I am going to mail her a book a month for as long as she is in school... to encourage her literacy & also to show her someone cares.
If anyone else might like to do the same and send books to a child at this school, please reach out to me & I can help.
We all love to travel, but travel can also have a positive & meaningful impact in the destination you visit.
This is something I will carry in my heart forever.

Today was a busy day of learning & entertainment & appreciation for the travel advisor community from Sandals. The Prime Minister of Jamaica spoke to us as did other cabinet members, Sandals personnel, Air Canada Vacations was representing as was The Travel Agent Next Door... a great event and some exciting updates coming to the Sandals brand!

Last day/night at Sandals Ochi... some quiet time in my own pool with some pizza, sunset views & teppanyaki dinner and an AWESOME luggage tag. Sandals Ochi... you did NOT disappoint!

Today the travel advisor community got the honour and privilege of going to a local school with the Sandals foundation to donate school supplies and interact with the local children at the school.
As an educator myself, I know firsthand the importance of leveling the playing field so that ALL students regardless of income or background have equitable access to education and the necessary supplies to help enhance their learning.
To say it was an emotional experience was an understatement. Never underestimate the power and impact and connection you can make in a child's life in such a short time.
I had the honour of reading and drawing with and talking to Romone and Avianna, who were a delight. At the end of our visit Avianna wouldn't let go of me and asked me to "stay and live in her classroom so she can love me"... Tears were shed and she begged her teacher to take our photo so she could remember me.
If you book a Sandals vacation, this is one of the experiences you can have via Island Routes tours. What a meaningful way to make an impact while on holidays!

Last but certainly not least...
Sandals Dunn's River... completely new & redone...
Hard not to fall in love with... but hard to compare to other Sandals properties.
BUT ... that is a sign of a good resort company... they do not cater to one niche... they look at ALL the clients and their needs & wants... this is NOT a cookie cutter resort chain... there is literally SOMETHING for EVERYONE! No 2 properties look alike! I LOVE THAT!
So Dunn's...newer... big WOW factor... honestly, I was swept off my feet and would want to experience this property for a longer time.
And luxury room categories! Want to be spoiled??? ... this is it. The Rondaval Suite? I tried to hide in the closet so I could stay longer...
You have to see it to believe it!!!!
Propose here...honeymoon here... anniversary here... let's TALK!

What if I told you there was a Sandals property in Jamaica that was BOUTIQUE... what does that mean? Only 74 suites... all with butler service, all oceanview. What does that mean again? Staff knows you PERSONALLY... on a 1st name basis, your likes, dislikes, a vacation tailored to YOU and no crowds or lines. Better yet... want to travel with family or friends? There is a VILLA that accomodates 6 people (3 couples). Haven't sold you yet??? Chew on this... 70 percent return rate. SEVENTY PERCENT. In travel? Unheard of. Old school Jamaican feel... mahoghany wood & tile. Great food & personal service. And accessibility for those with those needs. MEET SANDALS ROYAL PLANTATION. Shhhh... if you know, you know!
