So much learning to be had at this amazing Go Travel conference. I quite enjoyed learning about Collette and their group tours. Can’t wait to try that style of traveling out for myself. Our morning consisted of an amazing (but a little cold) walking tour of Niagara Falls. So much history and stories affiliated with them. One of the things we toured was behind the falls. Beneath Niagara Falls, there’s a set of tunnels built over 100 years ago as part of the old power station. They were carved by hand to help generate electricity from the falls. Today, you can walk through them and feel the history, with the roar of the falls above, and get a sense of how people harnessed the power of nature back then. So incredible! I learned so much more on the walking tour that I never would have if I was on my own.

Another Professional Learning conference. 2 full days of listening to Suppliers, fellow agents and Travel Market Report people. This industry is always changing and evolving and I am proud to say I am trying my best to keep up! Next stop is an Ensemble conference in Las Vegas next week to learn some more.
As a side note, the most amazing cruise that I was so fortunate to take my husband on in February was with Explora Journeys. The most memorable trip and now I will be forever grateful that we had that opportunity. Explora Journeys was a sponsor at this conference and provided us the most amazing appetizers, pasta bar and cocktails. I also reconnected with the Explora rep Lisa, who had hosted Dave and I and another couple on the cruise ship for dinner. For those of you who had not heard, I lost my husband suddenly at the end of May to a heart attack. It was completely unexpected and has left my family and I devastated. I tell you this, not for the sympathy, but for the explanation on why I have been so quiet on social media in the last 6 weeks. I have so appreciated the texts, calls, messages, hugs and reach outs from so many of my family and friends. It has really shown my family and I how supported we all are.
With this devastating news, I also wish to share some good news. I have been given the opportunity to experience Europe with Air Canada Vacations and Celebrity Cruises on a Travel Agent training trip. With very mixed emotions, I decided to go. I will happily post about my journey so you all can see what ACV and Celebrity could offer for your future vacations. For the next few weeks, I will be showcasing a little of what my trip will be about, and then I will post about it as I go. We were able to tour the first 9 holes of the golf course which is attached to the Iberostar Paraiso Complex. It was a highlight of the day. It was in such amazing shape and when you pay the green fees it is all inclusive meaning your drinks and food are included in your round. The beer cart will catch up to you 4-6 times within your 18 holes. The monkeys also entertained us partway through our tour. If you are a golfer, this resort is for you!
