VancouverFoodies.ca is a result of a long and outstanding desire of the community to have a portal dedicated exclusively for all Halal consumers in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Halal community wanted a portal where we can share and discuss Halal food. However, there were no reliable resources to seek in Metro Vancouver, especially for any new-comers to BC. We felt there was a need for a website that should be built by the people known within the local community to provide reliable and up to date information and in 2019 this website was launched. It has been created for the community. This website is 100% Free. There are no ads, we do not charge for any listings. To ensure the integrity of our listings, we also do not allow any businesses to purchase any sort of higher ranking. Our Mission:

Assalamu’alaikum! We are proud to announce that BC’s two premier Halal food groups – Halal Foodies Vancouver and Halal In Vancouver – are this year’s official Media Partners for HALAL RIB FEST 2024!
The exciting 3-day event takes place this weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — August 30 to September 1, 2024 — at Holland Park in Surrey.
The Halal Rib Fest has become a marquee annual family‐friendly event attended by thousands of guests from a wide‐reaching segment of Metro Vancouver’s residents and visitors alike.

‼️ New Halal Cafe in Burnaby‼️
The long-awaited moment has arrived! Chai Coffee N Chaska, a family-owned restaurant, is opening this Friday, August 23 across from Metrotown Mall.
We had the pleasure of attending their soft opening today for a sneak peek and sampled several menu items, including the All American Breakfast, Tuna Panini, Egg Muffin, Paratha Wrap, Carrot Cake, and Spicy Chai.
The menu is thoughtfully balanced, blending Western-style dishes with a Desi touch, and each item impressed us with its presentation, rich flavours, and exceptional value. The prices are also very reasonable.
With its spacious and inviting atmosphere, the café is an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The entire menu is Halal, with all meats supplied by Bismillah Market.

‼️New Halal Mary Browns ‼️
We were invited to the Grand Opening of a new Halal Mary Browns in Vancouver today. This location is owned by Brother Ayaz who also has Mary Brown locations in Port Moody and Port Coquitlam.
The location is bright and beautiful and well decorated and located near the busy intersection of Broadway and Commercial Drive near a major Skytrain station.

⚠️ Mary Browns in BC uses Sunrise Poultry as their Halal Supplier. Sunrise uses an Automated Halal Slaughter process where Tasmiyah is recited for each bird before slaughter by a Muslim. They are certified by CHFCA. Sunrise also supplies Barcellos, HiFive, and Popeyes.

‼️ New Halal Restaraunt ‼️
We are excited to share with the community that a new Halal Pizza and Sweet Shop has just opened at 14851 108 Ave, Surrey. We tried their House Special Pizza, Tandoori Chicken Pizza, Hot Wings, and Honey Garlic Wings, and I must say, the flavors were outstanding. The pizzas had good cheese and toppings, with the Tandoori Chicken Pizza offering a delicious blend of spices, while the wings had the perfect balance of heat and sweetness.
We wish the owners Barakah and Success in their new venture, Ameen!

‼️New Halal Mexican Restaraunt ‼️
Ay Que Rico Restaurant just opened up today in Vancouver serving some Mexican and Latino Cuisine.
I ordered their Birria Ramen with a boiled egg on top along with their Quesabirria Taco which comes a cup of consume for dipping.
The ramen was something totally different for me - mixing up Mexican Food with a twist of Asian. The ramen was loaded with super tender beef in a delicious broth. The ramen was topped with a boil egg. This was definitely a comforting dish.
The Birria Taco was tasty and pretty filling as well. You get 3 taco’s in an order, The consume had also a well developed deep slow cooked flavour. Again the beef was super tender.
May Allah Bless their new business with success and Barakah. Glad to see another new Halal option in town!! Alhumdulliah.

Had the opportunity to try some delicious Malia paya from Mumtaz Decanni Guys,this was something different from your regular Pakistani type paya it has that saucy milk taste with a just of black pepper and a bit tangy loved it was just excellentooo👍

If you are looking for some Delicious Pakistani Food that is made with passion and love then you definitely need to try Cuckoo’s Deli in Vancouver.
We tried their Biryani (Beef and Chicken), Tara Chicken, Karahi Keema, Singaporean Rice, Wings, Jalapeno Chicken Skewers and Hot and Sour Soup. Each and every dish had its own flavour and unique taste. Everything was made fresh to order. The Skewers and Wings were definitely were our absolute favourite.
Many of their snack items are available as frozen so you can stock up for Ramadan. Check out their page for more details.
They are a ghost kitchen with delivery via the normal food delivery apps or pick up is available. They also cater!

The Kabab Factory recently switched over their meat supplier to a Halal Certified source (). They offer a unique style of Indian cuisine that is not commonly served in the Lower Mainland.
Both the biryani and handi were cooked and served in clay pots. The biryani and kabobs were delicious. The handi was delicious however we found it to be a bit spicier than we normally order. We will definitely be ordering again some of their other items.

‼️ New Halal Restaurant Chain ‼️
HiFive Chicken has listened to the numerous requests for a Halal menu and has now made the switch to Halal at all their B.C. locations!
Suhas, the Manager of the Burnaby location, was exceptionally transparent during our tour. With personal experience of over 20 years in the Middle East, he is well-versed in Halal practices and has devoted countless hours to training his team and other teams throughout the chain. A Halal certificate from the supplier is on display at each Hi Five location.
As per their website, they marinate their chicken for 36 hours before cooking. The Fried chicken had a thinner batter, resulting in a super crispy exterior and a juicy interior. Both spicy and non-spicy options were delightful.
Their spicy roasted chicken offered a more "Indian style" flavor that many will enjoy. The non-spicy roasted chicken was also seasoned well and packed with flavor, providing a tasty alternative to the fried offerings.
Their wings were both super crispy and incredibly juicy on the inside.
Alhamdulillah - HiFive making the change to an All Halal Menu is a huge win for the Halal community. Despite being a non-Muslim owned chain, they see the immense potential in making this switch.
Note: HiFive is using Halal Certified Chicken for all their products from Sunrise Poultry in Surrey, who are now certified by the Canadian Halal Food Certifying Agency, using an Automated Halal Slaughter process.

Here's my latest food review. Craving Palestinian cuisine, I made my way to Tamam Palestinian Cuisine to indulge in their lamb shank. With every bite, I relished the flavors that transported me to the heart of the land and its rich culture.
During my journey from Burnaby to Vancouver, I was grateful to encounter no checkpoints, and the restaurant itself had uninterrupted electricity, running water, and an abundance of food without any rationing. I was treated with the dignity and respect that every human deserves.
After enjoying the delightful meal, I returned home to find my dwelling untouched and unoccupied, still an integral part of the same welcoming neighborhood. It was undeniably a wonderful experience.

Stopped in for Dinner a few nights ago at Luca after a long day of travelling.
While the food was good, the service was super friendly that made you feel right at home.
We ordered -
- Linguine Bolognese Pasta
- Chicken Alfredo Pasta
- Egyptian Style Lamb Curry served with rice (Saturday special)
- Shawarma Steak but we asked for it to be deconstructed with out the wrap but added rice instead. They happily obilged.
- Chicken Shawarma
- Lentil Soup was ordered by a few of us
I personally very much enjoyed what I ordered - the Linguine Bolognese - the meat sauce was rice and hearty as did the rest of the people in the party.
Like I mentioned earlier, the service definitely stands at Luca. This is my second time here and I will definitely be back again.

has switched over their entire menu to Halal! Great news for those in Burnaby and beyond!
What pleasantly surprised us was the affordability of the dishes, especially considering the restaurant's upscale ambiance. Moreover, the portion sizes were incredibly generous. In summary, Suren offers an exceptional fine dining experience that seamlessly blends Halal Persian food with gourmet flavors, all at a very reasonable price point.
The Magestic chicken was delicious. It’s probably one of the best I’ve had. Their Biryani was tasty as well. The mutton curry was good, it was thickened with cashews.
The rumali roti isn’t something you find at most places so this was a treat.
We are happy that they owners of this location got certified by Halal Inspection & Certification so it puts to rest any questions about their supplier or status.

Great news for Halal Foodies! Ready-to-eat items from Barakah Eats, who are HICC Halal certified, are now available at 7-Eleven stores. According to the cashier, they are available across all stores. I got the Chicken Biryani for $8.99.

‼️1st Vancouver Location of Popeyes is now open‼️
Popeyes has opened their location in Downtown Vancouver.
The boutique type setup is very cozy. It has one of the nicest interior decor of any Popeyes I have been to.

‼️Exciting update‼️
d-Spot has made its debut in BC with the much-awaited Surrey/Delta branch set to launch tomorrow. The Halal Foodies Vancouver Team were invited to a sneak preview. d-Spot Desert Cafe is a hub for distinctive desserts, cakes, and savory delights.
Our tasting included a range of delectables like the Spicy Tandoori Poutine, Pesto Veggie Pizza, Onion Rings, and Cheesy Fries. Indulging in dessert, we savored the Pistachio Dark Chocolate and Creamy Dreamy Mango.
Their entire menu is fully Halal using the same suppliers they use across Canada. All meat products are Hand Slaughtered.
They will be open starting Saturday August 12th from 6pm to 12am for one week then they will be open their regular hours - Sunday - Thursday 1pm to 12am, Friday-Saturday 1pm to 2am. Great for your late night eats!!
The location is conveniently situated at 8555 120 Street Delta Scott Road.

‼️ New Halal Restaurant ‼️
Famous Dosa
We recently found out that Famous Dosa in Vancouver switched over their entire menu to Halal so a visit was definitely in order.
We ordered their
- Chicken 555 as an appetizer
- Chicken Chettinand Curry
- Kerala Beef Roast
- Plain masala dosa
- Thalapaktti Beef Biryani (South Indian Special biryani)
The Chicken 555 is somewhat Iike Chicken 65 but with different spicing and it’s served dry (not tossed in sauce). This was a tasty item.
Both curries come complete with rice, naan and raita. I especially liked their platting which resembled a banana leaf - typical way of serving food in South India. The beef was super tender in a dry gravy.
The biryani is not like your typical North Indian or Pakistani biryani. They use a short grain rice with a different type of spicing. It was good but not sure I would order it again. But I am glad I did try it.
The Masala Dosa was good. I did enjoy the potato filling.
I’m glad to see there’s another Halal option.

If you're in the mood for a long drive and some Fish & Chips, Pajos is a must-stop. There is a queue to get in, a queue to order food and a queue to pick up your meal, but it's all worth it since the cuisine and scenery are just spectacular.
📣 They do not use beef tallow to fry their items in nor use beer in the batter.

The wait is finally over. The first Halal Hyderabadi restaurant in Vancouver is now open. As a Hyderabadi in Vancouver, I've been waiting for this day since many years. Alhamdulillah
You can now eat authentic Hyderabadi Biryani, Chicken 65, Marag, Dum ka Chicken, Haleem, Double Ka Meetha, and a variety of other unique dishes.
The restaurant is owned by a Muslim brother, and the entire menu is Halal. Please join me in congratulating and wishing them the very best of success.
