As a valued member, we wanted to inform you that on June 4, 2024, our Basic fare is being replaced by our new UltraBasic fare. UltraBasic is still our lowest price fare option and will result in price reductions across domestic and transborder routes. However, it does come with restrictions. It is important to understand the limitations of UltraBasic and what this means for you and your benefits:
• Carry-on bags: Carry-on bags are not permitted unless you are travelling on a transatlantic or transpacific flight, or if you purchase Extended Comfort for all flights in a single direction, including connections. Personal items that fit under the seat in front are allowed and there is the option to check a bag in advance for an additional fee. If you arrive at the gate with a carry-on bag when not permitted, it will be checked with both a checked bag and a service fee applied.
• Pre-assigned seats: You will be automatically assigned seats at the back of the aircraft, including middle seats, which may not be together if you are travelling with others. You have the option to choose your seats for an additional fee.
• Boarding: You will be the last to board.
• Not eligible for changes: Changes, cancellations, or refunds are not permitted with this fare.
• WestJet Rewards earn: Opting for this fare means you’ll miss out on earning WestJet dollars and tier qualifying spend.

UPDATE REGARDING AIR CANADA: Air Canada Pauses Changes to Seat Selection
“We have paused the implementation for operational reasons to ensure a smooth rollout for our customers and employees, and we will communicate next steps further at the appropriate time.”

Air Canada has made a change to seat selection for select fares. As of this week, travellers who book an Economy (Basic) or Economy (Standard) fare can no longer select a Standard seat for free at check-in. Instead, AC now automatically assigns a seat upon check-in, and passengers need to pay to change to a different seat (if this is what they want to do).

The UNESCO World Heritage monasteries of Meteora are our first stop today. This afternoon experience the picturesque and lively town of Trikala, considered to have been the birth place of the “God of Medicine” Asclepius. Enjoy an orientation of the town; walk along the river side and the pedestrian streets in the company also of the locals out socializing for the evening. Afterwards Dine at a local restaurant Greek family style, and taste a variety of sumptuous dishes all served in the middle of the table, accompanied by plenty of wine!

I am just settling after an amazing week in Vegas at the (Fareconnect's consortium) Ensemble's "Horizons Level Up" convention. We were wowed by the opening ceremonies that the Ensemble group put on! Over 800 Travel Advisors from Canada and the United States as well as hundreds of Supplier from all over the world came together for this amazing event.
Review of Best Western Premier, Toronto. Don't let the video fool you, you cannot hear it in inside. Free shuttle to and from the airport (maybe a 10 min drive). Restaurant/bar, gym, and pool onsite. Decent food, pricey drinks. Clean, large rooms with comfortable beds and and great shower pressure. If you have a Government ID or CAA, good discounts.

Ocean Blue and Sand, Punta Cana: what a beautiful way to finish off a sun-filled week at this beautiful resort, then to listen to soothing tunes while sipping a beverage after a gourmet meal at the French a la carte (unlimited), Blue Moon. The 2 main buffets are in behind them. Down by the beach is another buffet. Privilege only in the morning and night but open to all at lunch. Extremely well laid out.
