NEW REQUIREMENT from Cuban government beginning January 23, 2023.

All passengers travelling to and from Cuba are required to complete the government mandated D’VIAJEROS digital entry form prior to arriving at the airport. Passengers are instructed to fill out the digital form within 48 hours of departure, for which they will then be provided a QR code they will need to show during check-in or at boarding for proof of completion and faster processing upon entry into Cuba.

Great changes in the Travel industry!!!!

As of February 28th, Canadians do not need a negative PCR test to come back to Canada. You can now do an antigen rapid test (which is about 30$ instead of 90$ pp). These tests will need to be administered by a laboratory or health care entity, meaning doing a test at home won’t work.

Test needs to be done within the 24 hours before your flight.

Random PCR testing will continue at the border in Canada but you do not need to quarantine while you wait for your results.

Don't forget that if you have proof of a positive PCR test, you are exempt from doing any testing for 179 days.

The government will also be lifting restrictions for children under 12 who are not fully vaccinated and travelling with fully vaccinated adults, meaning they will no longer need to wait before going to school or daycare.

The level 3: non essential Travel advisory will be lifted. We will go back to level 2. Therefore, most insurance will cover you for Covid now.

The cases are still rising in Canada. Here is an update as of today:

Air Canada: majority of flights suspended except for a select few international flights. After April 1st they will only serve London, Paris, Frankfurt, Delhi, Tokyo, Hong Kong. Transborder they will be flying to New York; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Houston; Seattle; San Francisco; Los Angeles; Denver; Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Domestic they will cut 22 cities for a total of 40.

Westjet: all flights cancelled as of March 22nd for 30 days.

Porter: all flights cancelled until June 1st.

Air Transat: gradually suspending flights until April 30th.

Sunwing: all flights cancelled until April 9th.

New measures

1- Closing the boarders to ALL NON CANADIANS citizens. Exception to us citizens.

2- airlines are mandated to verify symptoms of everyone that gets on the aircraft. If they have the symptoms, they will be denied access. A subvention program will be put in place to those who have the symptoms and need to stay back. All extra costs will be covered.

3- as of WEDNESDAY the 18th, only Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary will accept international flights. You need to go through a screening upon arrival.

He also recommends self isolation.

For those traveling with Sunwing and Air Transat, here are their policy at the present time.

Sunwing: if booked before March 4th, you can make changes but need to give 5 days notice. Not good for those traveling this weekend.

Air Transat, if booked before March 4th, you can rebook or make changes but have to give 3 days notice.

Unfortunately, if you don't fall into their criterias and decide to not traveling, it is a total loss of money.
