Air travellers landing in Canada will have to quarantine in a hotel, at their own expense, starting Feb. 22, 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced February 5th, as the federal government tries to curb the spread of the new, more transmissible variants of the COVID-19 virus.

The enforcement date comes two weeks after the federal government said air travellers returning from non-essential trips abroad will have to isolate in a federally mandated facility for up to 72 hours while they await the results of a polymerase chain reaction test, commonly known as a PCR test.

I hope everyone is staying safe!!

TRAVEL ADVISORY – Air Canada Vacations CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS

As announced, Air Canada plans to gradually reduce its scheduled capacity as of April 1, 2020.

Given the rapidly evolving situation, further schedule adjustments have been made.

All Air Canada Vacations bookings scheduled to depart Canada between March 19 and April 30, 2020, inclusively, have been cancelled.

If you are affected, bookings are cancelled automatically and you will receive a full credit for future travel valid for 24 months. If you are booked on a group, the future travel credit will be applicable to the same destination and same hotel.

It is not necessary to contact your travel agent or Air Canada Vacations as these credits will be processed automatically.

When you are ready to use your credits, please call me and I will refer to your invoice which contains your Air Canada Vacations details.

Please note that Air Canada Vacations are processing files in order of departure dates. Given the high volume of changes, they are working as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your understanding during these times of rapid change.

Official Global Travel Advisory
Avoid non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice.

To limit the spread of COVID-19, many countries have put in place travel or border restrictions and other measures such as movement restrictions and quarantines. Airlines have cancelled flights. New restrictions may be imposed with little warning. Your travel plans may be severely disrupted and you may be forced to remain outside of Canada longer than expected.

If you are still considering travelling:

Check your destination’s Safety and security, Entry/exit requirements and Health sections.
Get the Government of Canada’s latest updates on COVID-19.
Check the Pandemic COVID-19 travel health notice.

From the Jamaican Tourist Board
In the wake of the global outbreak of COVID-19, Jamaica has taken a number of preventative and proactive measures to keep our residents and your clients safe.
• Jamaica's Ministry of Health and Wellness has imposed travel restrictions to include eight countries in efforts to control the spread of the coronavirus: China, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, Iran, Spain, France and Germany.
• Travellers who have travelled to these countries in the past 14 days and do not have permanent residency or marriage exemption in Jamaica will not be landed on arrival to the island.
• Passengers will be screened at all the international gateways to Jamaica by heat sensing scanners, prior to entering the Immigration Hall.
• Quarantine facilities have been identified and isolation facilities are now at each of the island’s public hospitals.
• You are invited to view the full list of destination protocols at www.jtbonline.org
In the destination we are focused on prevention management, as we believe we can and will overcome this public health threat.

The latest on COVID-19 in Mexico
The number of confirmed cases remains extremely low.

Mexico remains at the very lowest risk level possible for all health issues for travelers, according to the experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Furthermore, there are no travel restrictions to or within Mexico. There are also no closures or restrictions placed on any experiences or activities within Mexico.

As is normal for Journey Mexico, we will continually monitor the situation within the country and inform you of any changes before or during your travels.

It’s important to emphasize that Mexico has had very little exposure to COVID-19 and remains a world-class vacation destination.
