The fisherman on the shore still needs his rod too!

So…. I did a thing! Looking at this wall it needed something to create atmosphere and perhaps a photo opportunity for our guests.

Highway 24, also known as the Little Fort Highway or the Interlakes Highway, is a (60 mi) east-west connection between the Cariboo Highway, just south of 100 Mile House, and the Southern Yellowhead Highway at Little Fort.

Leave behind the old and try something new. I’ve always had a fear of falling through the ice, so I closed off the old year facing that fear and tried something new at 63 years young.

So bye, bye to the things that hold you back and may you discover the childlike fun of learning something new!

Christmas Eve and the snow was cleared, just as the sun was setting. We are really looking forward to skating on the lake tomorrow. Merry Christmas everyone 🌲

It’s so beautiful here on top of the mountain. It’s cold but it’s a dry cold, much different than the cold dampness of the lower mainland. Going to pull up a chair by the fire,
it’s going to be a fun holiday here at the cabin.

Known as Hobo Packs or Foil Packets they’re perfect on the campfire grill lakeside!

Good food, family & friends and the perfect lakefront get away!

Recipe below ⬇️

Surf & Turf Foil Packets with Sirloin and Shrimp 🍤🥩🌿

Ingredients:
½ lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
½ lb raw shrimp, cleaned and deveined
1 cup baby tomatoes, halved
½ small red onion, cut into thin wedges
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp seafood seasoning blend
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions:
Cut 4 sheets of foil, each about 12x12 inches.
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, mix the steak cubes, shrimp, grape tomatoes, red onion, garlic, seafood seasoning, thyme, cumin, and olive oil until everything is evenly coated.

Assemble Foil Packets by dividing the mixture evenly among the four foil sheets. Wrap and tightly seal the foil around the ingredients to create individual packets.

Place the packets on the grill until the steak reaches an internal temperature of 130°F (use an instant-read thermometer to check through the foil).

Serve and Garnish
Carefully open each packet, being mindful of the steam. Garnish with fresh parsley and green onions, and serve with lime wedges on the side.
