This past weekend on May 25th, we had a Stuff a Bus fundraiser for those affected by the wildfires in Fort Nelson. We have gathered all the donations and loaded them up ready to go to Fort Nelson! With no room left in the available luggage space we are off to drop off much needed relief supplies to the Fort Nelson Aboriginal Friendship Center.

BC Bus North would like to thank Diversified Transportation BC, Northern Health Connections, Stinger Welding, Save-On-Foods the PG Kodiaks Football Club team and Walmart for making our Stuff the Bus event a success.

We'd also like to give a special shoutout to everyone who came out and donated. Without you the event couldn't have been what it was. Thank you.

NH Connections is teaming up with BC Bus North to head up an initiative to gather and deliver supplies to help the families that were displaced due to the wildfires in Fort Nelson. We will be gathering food, toiletries, and pet food for donations, and the goods will be delivered to Dawson Creek and Fort St. John community centers that took in evacuees.

Want to donate? You can drop off your items at the following locations:
• 9122 Penn Rd, Prince George - Stinger Welding office
• 5232 Domano Blvd, Prince George - Save on Foods. A bus will be on site Saturday, May 25 to receive donations
• 4501 46 drive NE, Chetwynd - The Standard Bus Contracting building

If you have donations but cannot get them dropped off at any of these locations, please contact Northern Health Connections Customer Service [email protected] to arrange a pick up.

- In Burns Lake, you can catch your ride outside the Co-op Gas bar (613 Highway -16)

- In Chetwynd, You can catch your ride at the Petro Canada (5001 South access road.

Traveling across BC can be difficult for seniors. Long trips and driving at night can be dangerous for some. To make things easier for seniors in our communities, Northern BC residents 60 and older can ride the NH Connections bus with or without a medical reason. The Northern Health Connections program will run on a modified schedule starting December 23, leading up to an annual holiday and maintenance break that takes place each year at this time.

NH Connections provides transportation for clients travelling to non-emergent health services outside their home communities. A variety of routes connect communities across Northern BC, along with service to Vancouver. Demand for the service typically drops over the holiday season as fewer people book health care appointments.

Starting December 23, NH Connections buses will begin their last routes for 2023. Regular routes will resume the week of January 2, 2024. On Saturday, September 30th, take time to reflect on the history of residential schools and the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada. Our coaches will be running regular business hours on this day, however, the call center will be closed. The call center will reopen on Sunday October 1, 2023 for all you booking needs.

It with the heaviest heart we post the tragic passing of one of our dearest drivers. Neil Taylor started with our program in 2006 and really became part of our NHC Family. He will be missed. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends
