🥏DOUBLES DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT OCT 23🥏

Victoria Fenninger from FR Bike - E-Bike Tours is hosting a doubles disc golf tournament October 23 at noon.

This event will take place on the Abbey Gardens Disc Golf trail (Note the very similar name to the Abbey Retreat Centre! Did you know, we are actually separate organizations?)

There are beginner and intermediate divisions for all levels of play.

The $40 registration fee includes: an all-day-play pass, the tournament round, a players pack, a disc, and an entry into the prize raffle.

All proceeds from this tournament are being generously donated to the Abbey Retreat Centre, which will help us continue to deliver support programs for people living with cancer and their loved ones.

“Victoria Fenninger is an enthusiastic supporter of getting outside and trying new things. She recently started offering e-bike lessons and tours through FRbike.ca. She is an active cyclist that enjoys any time spent on a bike. She has competed in many triathlons, mountain bike and adventure races but also enjoys going out for leisurely rides with friends and family. She enjoys being outside surrounded by nature and loves learning how to identify new plants and flowers, especially if they are edible. In the winter months she is the Program Director and Head Coach for Fenninger Racing, a ski cross team based out of Sir Sam’s that also facilitates training for racers in Haliburton (at Sir Sam’s) and North York (at Earl Bales). She has also worked extensively as an Art Director and Artist and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours (BFAH) and enjoys creating and teaching others about art (mostly painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture).”

It was a bit cold for this morning's of Abbey Gardens. But a delicious hot mocha and chocolate cupcake from the Food Hub made it all better! Checked out the trail and visited the gongs before riding all the great little trails around the property! Always fun when I get to guide fellow enthusiasts. We get to explore the new rougher single track on the property! What a treat!

Following an e-bike tour of Eagle Lake this morning, I took Olivia (9) out for a lesson
We played 29 holes plus the practice basket! Front 11+all 18 short tees/baskets. We played best disc and she absolutely loved it!! Check out her stellar putt from the top of the rock wall (which went it!)!! She also made a few 15-25' putts! Very impressive for a first time out! She can't wait to go again. And now her sister Ava (7) wants to come too! Perfect way to spend an afternoon!

Week 1 of our 1-hour drop-in e-bike mini tours of Haliburton.
These mini tours will move around to different locations all summer.

Join us tomorrow (Wednesday) at 4pm-5pm starting in Rotary Park and touring around Haliburton village/Head Lake. $60/person.

Or join us a bit later for E-bike & Yoga in the Park. Yoga is with Harmony Yoga Haliburton. E-biking 5:30pm - 6:45pm, followed by pay what you can yoga from 7-8pm. $80/person.
Limit of 4 participants.

Great day ! Opening day for the ! Great turnout. Had fun touring around the property on then played 18 holes of followed by a visit to the Food Hub and then another 18 holes of dg. Great way to spend a day outdoors!!

We have big news! 🥏 For anyone who has hit the trails this year, you may have noticed some new activity in the Big Pit. We partnered with and have been busy all spring building an 18 hole disc golf course! The course starts in the Big Pit and continues into the woods, following a NEW trail that has unearthed areas of the property we didn’t even know existed! To celebrate, we’re hosting a kickoff event Thursday July 1! Your registration gets you a day pass to the course, plus a voucher to visit The Food Hub and !
