Parents and Grandparents Program re-opens this fall

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will continue to reunite families by accepting up to 15,000 complete applications for sponsorship under the Parents and Grandparents Program this year. On October 10, 2023, IRCC will begin sending invitations to apply to 24,200 interested potential sponsors, aiming to receive up to 15,000 complete applications. Invitations will be sent over the course of 2 weeks.

Our founder Ankita Goyal Successfully completed the USA Immigration Law Certificate Program through Cornell Law School.

As the world becomes increasingly globalized and interdependent, so too does recruiting and hiring top talent. The decision to pursue international talent, however, is not always straightforward — it requires significant consideration. This certificate program from Cornell Law School gave me an overview of U.S. immigration law, which provided me with the skills needed to strategize the trade-offs of various options for business visas.

The courses in this program equipped me to recognize where a business immigration issue might also become a legal problem, to better comprehend how the law works (and doesn’t work), and to discern how lawyers approach immigration-related situations facing businesses. Additionally, I discovered how to identify where the ambiguities in immigration law can pose challenges and offer opportunities.

Always verify the credentials of the person you are hiring for your immigration application.
Only some people can charge you a fee or receive any other type of payment. These people are called “authorized” representatives. They are:
lawyers and paralegals who are members in good standing of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society
notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec and
citizenship or immigration consultants who are members in good standing of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants
If they are not members in good standing, you should not use their services.
Most law societies let you check online to see if a person is a member in good standing.
