Traveling? Thinking of travel? Or thinking of cancelling your travel plans?
Right now the government is reinstating travel restrictions. What does that mean for you, the traveler?
Not much.
You can still travel.
Just be sure to get COVID coverage in case you or one of your traveling companions tests positive. You may also want to check with your destination. Just because Canadian borders are open, doesn't mean everyone's are open.
Now with that being said, if you don't feel comfortable traveling, don't.
If you've made plans and now you feel uncomfortable, talk to one of the many knowledgeable Travel Agents, Travel Consultants, or Certified Travel Counselors (that's me) out there, and we'll ease your discomfort or rearrange your travel plans.

For those wondering, I am a Certified Travel Counsellor.
But, what does that even mean?
It means:
I went to college for a 2 year program and graduated in 18 months- with honours.
I can get you there (unless there is a travel ban like in Syria or Haiti where there is a high likelihood of you being killed).
It means you can relax (or worry anyway, totally up to you) while I take care of the necessary travel arrangements and the little tidbits that take a vacation from "It Was Great!" to "THAT Was Freakin' Incredible!!!!"
It means that if something goes wrong, you have someone with you to help smooth it over or fix it. If I can't fix it (for technical or legal reasons), I can point you in the direction of -or- get you into contact with the right people and prevent your vacation from totally derailing.
If it does derail? I can help there too.

So in the end what does it mean? Peace of mind for you and a rewarding challenge for me.

Things are starting to look up in Travel-Land. Countries are coming up with and implementing plans to get the tourists back (maybe not at pre-COVID levels, but that is a different conversation) and borders are opening.
With that in mind, I have one question for many of you:

Update: Internet is still down, Telus is on the case. Unfortunately the "case" in question is a curiously built nightmare of wires and bad renos.
Next: Travel restrictions will be lifted at some point, and the rush is going exhilarating. That being said, I recommend booking early. Not only to save you some hassle, but also some cash.
So send me an e-mail or even a message through messenger (I do have limited access to the internet) and we'll look into that dream vacation. We can set up a meeting and look into these questions:
What's going to be open in 6-12 months?
What's open now?
What are their COVID-19 protocols and requirements?
We'll work together and you will get that vacation or weekend get-a-way you've been so desperately wanting.

So, we are having some technical difficulties in the communication department. Email is now not only the best method of contacting me, but also the only way until further notice. I do have the ability to check that every day and return your communications that way. Messenger is also an option, but it will be less than optimal as I can only check that at certain times throughout the day.

I want to say "I politicians did it, you can too," but that would be irresponsible and unprofessional. What I will say is this: If you do plan on following the example set by your glorious and infallible, trusted elected officials- travel responsibly.
Be safe and be conscientious of others.
Also: Hawai'i. If ever there was a reason to defy a public health "order"...this is it.

Heading out for a drive around any of the Hawaiian Islands hardly qualifies as a “road trip” in U.S. mainland terms. Even considering a spin around the 4,028-square-mile Hawaii Island, the largest of the Hawaiian Islands, can average about four hours.
