🧡✨ Being a gay woman in 2024 isn’t easy, but it’s something I’m deeply proud of. I’ve come a long way to stand here, comfortable and honest in my identity, surrounded by so many amazing people who’ve lifted me up. But this journey hasn’t been a solo one – it’s been built on the strength, resilience, and love of the LGBTQ+ community and every woman who’s dared to live authentically.
When I see the world changing around me, it reminds me of both the progress we’ve made and the challenges that lie ahead. With the recent election, there’s an undeniable weight in the air. For many of us, this election has stirred up real concerns, not just about policy but about our everyday safety, our rights, and our future.
As a woman and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I worry. I worry about rights that shouldn’t even be up for debate. I worry about young people questioning their identities in a world that still makes it feel risky to be authentic. I worry about women’s health, choices, and autonomy being limited in ways that take us backward, not forward. This election has been a reminder that we can’t take anything for granted – that every inch of progress we make is something we have to protect fiercely.
But, at the same time, I feel hopeful. Because we’ve faced so much before, and we’re still here, still fighting. I know that no matter how the landscape changes, our voices, our love, and our communities will remain unbreakable. We are here to support each other, raise each other up, and keep pushing forward. 🌈💪🏽
To everyone who feels uncertain or afraid: I see you, I’m with you, and I believe in us. We will keep pushing, loving, and building a future that embraces every identity, every love, and every dream. No matter what. 🧡
