Out of this World News......
We’re over it: Contiki heading into space to escape the pandemic

TORONTO — April 1
Just how badly does Contiki want to travel right now? It’s heading into space to get its travel fix.

Announced today of all days, April 1, the adventure tour operator is launching ContikiX, affordable space travel exclusively for millennials and Gen Z that’s literally out of this world.
“Due to the pandemic and questionable state of the planet, I think a lot of people are over Earth at the moment and are looking for an escape,” says Sheralyn Berry, president of Contiki Canada. “Which is why we can’t wait to offer this once-in-a-lifetime experience to our guests in the future and to be among the first humans to orbit Earth.”
Partnering with an undisclosed tech firm that works closely with Elon Musk’s aerospace company Space X, and Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactica, travellers of the future can orbit the planet from more than 300 kilometres up. As an added bonus, they’ll enjoy delicious meals prepared by an award-winning chef, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and even an onboard dancefloor so that they can ‘moonwalk’ their way to infinity and beyond.

“We pride ourselves on being ahead of the curve, always developing new and unique experiences for youths looking for a good time and the extraordinary,” adds Berry. “Now with ContikiX, together we are literally reaching for the stars.”

To register go to Contiki.com.
And have a very interstellar April Fool’s. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Electronic Form to enter and depart the Dominican Republic

As of April 1st, 2021, passengers entering or leaving the Dominican Republic will be required to complete and submit the digital form with the requested information by the authorities to optimize the processes of entry and departure to the country to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The form requests general passenger information such as passport number, address of residence, the address of the passenger's place of stay while in the Dominican Republic, and the passenger's health declaration.
The Dominican Republic airport has free internet access so that passengers who did not fill out the form before the flight can do so when entering or leaving the country.
Don't be confused by the name "e-ticket" - this is not a ticket, it is a health declaration form.

New! Aspire Travel Newsletter
Dear Traveler:
Here we are entering November, the Fall of 2020 and month 9 of a pandemic!
In normal times, this would be when vacation travel is heating up, long lineups with excited travelers at airports and snowbirds getting ready to go off to warmer climes to hibernate for the winter. Instead, travel now is scanty airports, six feet distances and mask wearing!
But humans love to travel and while it looks bleak right now, we know that when the time comes, travel will be bursting at the seams!
That's why as travel agents we are working hard behind the scenes preparing for when that time comes. Vacation spots are cautiously preparing to provide full service even while following health guidelines, airlines and cruise lines are putting in strict cleaning
protocols to ensure safer travel and travel agents and agencies are using this time to also train and prepare ourselves to serve our clients.
Aspire Travel may be on pause but we are still here if you have questions. Feel free to call us at 1 877 337 8617

COVID-19 UPDATES:
The Future Of Airport Processing

Coming to an airport near you: no cabin bags, no lounges, no automatic upgrades, face masks, surgical gloves, self-check-in, self-bag-drop-off, immunity passports, on-the-spot blood tests and sanitation disinfection tunnels.

Once borders reopen, a whole new airport experience is on the horizon. One which will make the changes after 9/11 look like a cake walk. The coronavirus pandemic, which experts refer to as ‘the new terrorism,’ is triggering irreversible changes for flyers.

Adding to the onslaught, Conde Nast predicts arriving passengers will undergo another temperature screening and potentially more blood tests. Welcome to the future...

Experiencing lockdown fatigue?
Let's travel! Virtually.
I know we're all temporarily grounded right now, but thanks to the miracles of the internet, we can tour this big beautiful world from pretty much anywhere.
Things are pretty sad right now and travel may be the last thing on our minds particularly since all we've been told for the last 2+ months is to "stay home"! But it doesn't mean we can't look out and look ahead. That's what I've been doing. It's still a big beautiful world out there!
Check out these YouTube videos. Enjoy!!

AC To Become “First Carrier In Americas” To Perform Pre-Flight Temperature Checks:

Air Canada has introduced a series of measures through its new CleanCare+ program aimed at increasing the health and safety of its passengers and crew, including performing mandatory pre-flight customer temperature checks. It says it will be the first carrier in the Americas to check passengers' temperature before boarding.

"While we are eager to see the reopening of economies and the restart of commercial aviation, the safety of our customers and employees is Air Canada's core value and we aim to establish the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness and attention to public health guidelines," said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada, in a press release.

"We have been a leader in progressively introducing new measures in response to COVID-19, such as introducing Personal Protective Equipment for our employees and being the first North American carrier to require face coverings for customers. We are now the first airline in the Americas to administer pre-flight temperature checks system-wide.

Rovinescu continued: "Coupled with other new safety practices we implemented earlier in response to COVID-19, Air Canada CleanCare+ will provide travellers with the confidence that they can book and fly safely with Air Canada as they consider their travel plans in the current environment."

Air Canada says its CleanCare+ program will introduce the following measures by 15MAY:

Customers travelling on Air Canada flights will be subject to an infra-red temperature check at all airports. The non-invasive procedure will complement the existing government-mandated health questionnaire currently completed by all travellers to determine their fitness to fly. Customers who are deemed unfit to travel will be rebooked at no cost but be required to obtain medical clearance prior to travel.
To promote more personal space in Economy Class aboard its aircraft, Air Canada will automatically block the sale of adjacent seats and cap the total number of seats sold for each flight. As a result, no customer in Economy Class will be required to sit immediately adjacent to another, unless they are required to do so to assist another customer with whom they are travelling. This policy will remain in effect until at least 30JUN, 2020.
Air Canada will begin distributing care kits containing hand sanitizers and other health items to all customers.
In addition to already using hospital-grade disinfectant and "specialized techniques" to maintain cabin cleanliness, Air Canada says it will use electrostatic sprayers to disinfect cabin interiors.

Prior to CleanCare+, Air Canada had already taken a number of measures in response to COVID-19. These will remain in effect and include:

Requiring customers to wear face coverings during their travel, including at check-in, during boarding and as directed while onboard its aircraft.
Protocols for the use of Personal Protective Equipment by employees, including face shields and coverings, gloves and gowns by in-flight crew, along with other safety measures to encourage physical distancing, such as a revised boarding procedure and a new onboard service program.
To reduce personal interactions and promote physical distancing, Air Canada has adapted its check-in procedures. This includes making available on its self-serve web and mobile check-in and airport kiosk platforms government entry requirements, the mandatory health questionnaire and other relevant information.
Temporary adjustments to on-board service such as individual water bottles instead of bar service offerings and the removal of pillows and blankets. Air Canada enRoute and other non-safety literature have been removed from all seatback pockets.
Air Canada partnered with a third-party company that monitors infectious diseases all over the world using Artificial Intelligence and other predictive tools and provides the company with information in real-time to ensure it is equipped to make appropriate and timely decisions.
For customers who have already purchased tickets and are looking to change their travel, Air Canada has revised its booking policies so there is no change or cancellation fee for existing or new bookings. For customers whose flights have been cancelled due to the impacts of COVID-19, they can retain the unused amount of their ticket for up to 24 months.
