With the new promotion that dropped for Walt Disney World this week, a lot of questions are coming up about travelling to Disney World in the summer.
And the main question from that is... HOW hot is it really?!
Let's break it down ⬇️
Florida is known for its heat, and summer is peak time for that. Yes, if you travel to Florida in the summer months.. you will be HOT. There is just no way to sugarcoat that. But... is it really unbearable to the point you should avoid those months all together?! Personally.. I don't think so.
If you are prepared for the summer heat, you can absolutely have the MOST magical time at Disney World. Some of my top tips are as follows:
- You absolutely want to maximize your time so you are NOT standing in lines during peak heat. And to do that, I would recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass (and Single Passes) for your trip. There is also the new Premier Pass, which guarantees an ever more seamless experience - so something to consider for your trip during summer.
- Start your day EARLY. Even if you aren't early birds, you might want to start getting used to some early mornings for your vacation. The early morning hours will be when it's still slightly cooler, and you will have lower waits for rides in the first couple hours.
- Mid-day breaks. More so than ever before, that mid-day period is when you are going to want to have a rest plan in place. That could be going to your hotel, having a rest in an indoor air-conditioned area, or something similar. You do NOT want to be go go go ALL day while its boiling out.
- Pack with the heat in mind. Hand held fans, neck-fans, cooling towels, refillable water bottles, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats etc are all absolutely necessary tools to help keep you cool.
- BE. FLEXIBLE. If it's absolutely boiling out, and the kids are cranky, DON'T PUSH IT. Take that indoor break, go back to the hotel, plan a character meet and greet indoors. You do not have to riding rides all the time!!! A pool break in the afternoon can be a perfect reset, or even just a nap. If things don't go how you planned, adjust, and keep moving - things will turn out if you have a positive attitude.
Long story short, Disney is incredible anytime of year. Yes. Disney World in summer will be HOT, but if you plan accordingly and prepare, you can absolutely handle the heat.
So if you are looking at a summer trip, let's talk! This year has you with a FREE dining promotion to take advantage of, so definitely a great time to capitalize on that.
