Good news!!

Miette Hot Springs reopening on Friday, September 1, 2023 💦
Take a soak during these hours of operation:
⏰ 1 pm to 9 pm from September 1 - 4
⏰ 2 pm to 8 pm daily from September 5 to the end of the season on October 9
❗ Hours are subject to change.

Update regarding Miette Road washout from June.

🚧 Miette Road and Miette Hot Springs update: August 18, 2023

⚠️The Miette Road has been closed since June 19, 2023, after sustaining significant damage due to a mudslide, hundreds of downed trees, and significant washout of a portion of the road. The Miette Road and Miette Hot Springs are closed, and an area closure order is in place for public safety. The washed-out slope has been deemed stable by geotechnical engineers however some rerouting is required for traffic to pass safely.

🦺 Parks Canada is currently mobilizing a contractor to complete the work required for safe single-lane alternating traffic use and is anticipating reopening Miette Road by the end of August. Once the road is reopened, Parks Canada’s goal is to reopen the Miette Hot Springs prior to the September long weekend or sooner if possible. Opening dates and hours are yet to be determined, and an update will be shared before the end of August.

Parks Canada is also in close communication with all businesses in the area to provide updates.

Weather advisory

To all campers, be prepared for bad weather beginning Thursday night!

A cold front is forecasted to bring 20 to 50 mm of RAIN to low elevations and some SNOW to high elevations until Saturday. If you planned a backcountry trip at high elevations such as the Skyline Trail, Tonquin or Brazeau, you must be well prepared!

Wildfires and evacuations to snow and flooding. Crazy June weather. Fortunately thus far we haven’t been hit too hard in the yard with the creek however it is on the rise! It’s up about 3 feet already.

Regular deep cleans and maintenance are key factors to running a successful AirBnB rental. Wood heat takes a tole on wood doors and trim. Taking the time to freshen up all the doors after winter wood heat. Tung oil rejuvenates the alder wood, looks fantastic and smells great. We take pride in our Airbnb and our regularly scheduled deep cleans and maintenance.

I know it’s Wednesday but I came across these pictures so here’s a throwback anyways. A lot has changed since the last set of pictures were taken, when we paved the driveway, but I love seeing the progress we’ve made with the property over the years. When I look at how over grown the yard was when we purchased the house, I think man we were crazy, but the location and creek stole our hearts. The amount of work put into the outside has been huge, we’ve built and keep improving our piece of happiness. So for anyone who comes to stay at the AirBnB here’s a glimpse of where it started.
