Hmmm 🤔
I’m on a ship where almost 600 people LIVE onboard, some for a few weeks or months, some for years or even decades! How you may ask… 🤯⚓️
(I’m on the Global Mercy, a charity hospital ship run by volunteers in sub Saharan Africa) 🌍🇸🇱
It’s similar to a cruise ship in that there is a buffet open for all three meals but it’s different because there’s also a big kitchen where everybody can cook their own food if they’d prefer to. The cabins have little kitchenettes too! (The food has been so so good, very healthy and nutritious!) 🥗🍗
It’s kind of like a cruise ship in that they have a big room (similar to a theatre) that seats 600 people but it’s different because in there we’ve been entertained by the kids from the school putting on a Christmas nativity play or by the fantastic volunteers performing! They are all SO talented and I’ve laughed more then I ever have at a cruise ship comedian (sorry comedians) 🤣👏🏼
I’m sure people have their problems but I’ve never heard anybody complain about anything. Grateful and joyful would be the words I use to describe everyone here. It’s such a happy bubble of families. 🥹❤️
Over half the volunteers on here aren’t medical and they are always looking for volunteers if anybody is interested in a life change! I’ve met people working in carpentry, audio/visual techs, communications, you name it. Details of the vacancies are on the Mercy Ships website. Couples are always welcome as well as singles and families with kids. 😎😇
