Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that it will have hired up to 1,250 new employees by late fall in order to speed up processing capacity and reduce the backlog, while also making efforts to make the system more efficient in the long term.

IRCC says the new hires will decrease application wait times and allow new applications to be processed at pre-pandemic levels, including the service standard of six months for Express Entry programs.

IRCC holds second all-program draw in a row after 18 months hiatus.
1,750 Express Entry candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence if they had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 542.
The CRS requirement for the new draw is 15 points lower than the previous all-program draw on July 6.

IRCC expects to implement Express Entry reforms in the first quarter of 2023. They are planning to start holding draws for candidates based on labour market goals. This amendments will allow for IRCC to tailor Invitations to Apply (ITA) to meet in-demand skills or qualifications.

Are you a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident and want to bring your family to Canada?

You must be
1. 18 years or older
2. a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or registered under the Canadian Indian Act
3. living in Canada or a citizen planning on returning to Canada

Effective July 4, 2022:
The length of stay for Super Visa holders will be increased to 5 years per entry into Canada.

A person who currently holds a Super Visa also has the option to extend his stay by up to 2 years while in Canada. This means current Super Visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for up to 7 consecutive years.

Canada’s Immigration Minister will have the authority to designate international medical insurance companies to provide coverage to Super Visa applicants in the future.

[BREAKING NEWS] Canada has invited Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) candidates for the first time since December 2020.

The IRCC invited a total of 1,500 Express Entry candidates to apply for Permanent Residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score was 557.
