We don’t know what this means for SK, long term, but looks like Saskatoon YXE sounds confident we will be renewed given the requirements seem to be met already - namely having customs on site for international arrivals. Still not a great feeling when we haven’t even been a chance to recover yet.

THIS is awesome!!! Most resorts are only offering onsite Antigen testing for Americans but not PCR tests for Canadians. All of this is so new that I think more and more resorts will bring the PCR tests onsite. Currently, they are offsite and very expensive. Happy to see Sandals and Beaches helping out the Canadian travellers!

Sandals Resorts has issued a statement saying they are now offering complimentary COVID 19 testing through March 31st, 2021 at their resorts. The move is in response to the recently announced prerequisites for international travellers to submit a negative test for entry to Canada.

🚨Although the Canadian Government is advising against out of country travel at this time and the 14 day quarantine upon return is still in effect we would like to share this information with you, our clients, to provide peace of mind for those of you who currently have travel to Cuba booked or are intending to book travel to Cuba. We are committed to keeping all of our clients updated on travel industry changes as they occur.🚨

Cuba offers PCR test right at the hotels in the main destinations: Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin.

At the times when the travel industry is overwhelmed by the new Covid-19 entry requirements to Canada, Cuba makes easy for Canadians to get tested right at their hotels in the main destinations: Varadero, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Holguin. The test cost is 30.00 USD payable only by credit card or Debit /Visa (no cash).

“Clients staying at hotels in these destinations can have peace of mind that the test is done right at their hotels”, explains Lessner Gomez, Director of the Cuba Tourist Board in Toronto. “Guests will be advised upon arrival during the welcoming briefing about all the details on how to get tested and how to arrange the appointment through the doctor at each hotel. For clients staying in private homes they can get tested at all international clinics in Cuba, which are located throughout the country.”

“Cuba has a world-class health system and the highest doctor/patient ratio in the world (three times more than Canada); we are totally ready to accommodate increased testing”, says Mr. Gomez.

Cuba has several advantages over many countries, including the world’s highest ratio of doctors to population, many of its doctors have volunteered around the world, building up and supporting other countries’ health systems while gaining experience in emergencies. A highly educated population and advanced medical research industry, including laboratories equipped and staffed to run virus tests, are further strengths. Also, with a centrally planned, state-controlled economy, Cuba’s government can mobilize resources quickly.

Cuba also has further simplified the process for Canadian visitors entering the country, they need only their passport, tourist card and covid-19 insurance (which is included or purchased with the holiday package in most cases). The PCR test will be done upon arrival at the airport in Cuba.

Cuba Tourist Board represents the Ministry of Tourism in Canada. It provides general travel information to Canadians who would like to visit the island.

On December 30, 2020, the Government of Canada has announced the upcoming requirements for all passengers entering Canada by air as follows:

☑️COVID-19 testing required for people flying into Canada
Starting January 7, 2021, all air travellers 5 years of age or older are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test before boarding international flights bound for Canada. The test must be performed using a COVID-19 molecular polymerase chain reaction (or PCR) test and must be taken within 72 hours prior to the traveller’s scheduled departure to Canada.

☑️Mandatory 14-day quarantine or isolation
Anyone who receives a negative test result and is authorized to enter Canada must still complete the full, mandatory 14-day quarantine, refer to mandatory isolation or quarantine requirements.

The Government of Canada will be further increasing surveillance efforts to ensure travellers entering Canada complete the applicable mandatory 14-day quarantine period under the Quarantine Act.

Not respecting the mandatory requirements is a serious offense with consequences and penalties.

Another blow to our fragile travel industry. All inbound air travellers will require a specific covid test, with negative result, three days prior to re-entering Canada.

The newly tightened COVID-19 measures are expected to be implemented 'quickly,' Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said.
