Rue Pigalle

Rue Pigalle A community for women who love travel and craft!🧵🎨 Where we are going next? ✈️
https://ruepigalle.ca Who doesn’t want to create that kind of legacy?

Rue Pigalle celebrates, nurtures and promotes crafts through our Gatherings, Artisanal Journeys and The Club, by Rue Pigalle. We connect you to the people behind the objects, we share their real-life stories because when we nurture craft makers we help to foster a thoughtful, kind and connected society. And we do it all while having fun. The Club connects women around the world who have a curious

mind, are fervent supporters of crafts and wish to expand their world, their network, and their knowledge in a fun yet purposeful way. As one of our members said, we want to, “expand your awareness and understanding of what it is to be a maker and inspire you to find the story behind a hand-crafted work.” We want to, “light a flame for craft that you might not know is there.”

I just love taking my friends and clients to meet the artists in their studios, discover their world, listen to their story and experience their culture. Whether the conversation is in person during a trip or digital as part of our “In Conversation” series, we experience that feeling of satisfaction at having fed our soul and stretched our mind listening to the makers’ stories.

✨What a weekend in Prince Edward County!✨

We experienced a whirlwind of creativity, craft, and culinary delights. Here are a few highlights from our adventure:

🌿 Tom Ashbourne, Sculptor welcomed us into his studio, sharing insights into his stunning stone sculptures that left us inspired by his artistry and vision

🎨 We then dove into Kayo O’Young’s world, where vibrant colors and intricate details made each ceramic piece come alive with spirit and culture

🛠️ A visit to the studio of Kosoy + Bouchard revealed their passion for timeless, handcrafted design, showcasing pieces that marry beauty and utility

🍲 Enid Grace worked her culinary magic in a hands-on cooking class, and we savored every bite of her flavorful creations as well as the artistry behind each dish

🪚 Finally, we got hands-on at Finefolk Furniture, learning the craft of woodworking in an immersive class that connected us with the natural materials and timeless skills Katrina Tompkins so beautifully upholds.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable journey through craft, food, and connection! 💫

We recently had the chance to dive into the intricate art form of rug hooking at a hands-on workshop in Nova Scotia, and it was such a fulfilling experience! 🎨🧶

This traditional craft involves pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven base like burlap, creating often naive yet always intricate designs that range from simple patterns to highly detailed landscapes.

The tactile nature of rug hooking, combined with its deep-rooted history in communities along the East Coast, made this workshop a true connector for us with the people and craft of Cape Breton.

We left with not only newfound skills but also a deep appreciation for the artistry and skills behind each piece. 🖼️❤️

Join us for an evening with Toronto-based textile artist Carolyn Murphy as she unveils her latest series, Urban Patchwork. 🧵✨

Carolyn breaks free from traditional quilting, embracing intuition and raw emotion to create bold, abstract fabric collages. Inspired by street art in Paris and Florence, her work explores the unexpected beauty of urban creativity and the persistence of artistic expression in city life.

This is more than a quilt showcase—it’s an exploration of spontaneous art and the human spirit. Don’t miss this chance to experience Carolyn’s inventive process!

Our Story

I curate women-only art and culture trips around the world - we meet unknown artists in their studios, visit museums privately, discover the secret corners of cities, share fabulous meals, meet amazing women along the way. I have a penchant for jewelry so it features high on the itineraries. Learning, discovering, having fun and expanding our world, that’s what my journeys are about. I invite you to check out my itineraries on the website. #interestingwomentravellingtogether
