Moonrise in Francois, Newfoundland and Labrador, with the Adventure Canada ship in the harbour.

I spent about six weeks working aboard the Ocean Endeavour with Adventure Canada earlier this summer, which included circumnavigating Newfoundland, visiting Sable Island, and making it back to the Torngat Mountains in Labrador. It's been a busy summer, and there's still lots left!

Want to learn more about local birds? Representatives from the Birds Canada outreach team will be in Burgeo on July 12th and 13th!
Join us at the Fire Hall from 7-8:30 on Friday, July 12th for a fun, interactive, and educational presentation about birds of Newfoundland! Then, on Saturday, July 13th, we will meet at 8:30AM at the picnic tables on First Beach at Sandbanks to start a bird walk through the park!

Iceberg season will soon to be in full swing and most of the 18 or so towns on the Baie Verte peninsula are known to have an iceberg visitation sometime during the season. Being centrally located, Arctic House is an hour or less drive from any sighting.
