A gorgeous day of exploration on the North Shore yesterday. Sad to share this beautiful island will be more difficult to access once again.

Yesterday, the Mayor of Kauai’s request to temporarily opt out entirely of the Safe Travels Hawaii program and revert back to a 14 day quarantine was approved by the Governor of the state of Hawaii. Here we go again. We feel for all of the small businesses on Kauai that will deeply affected by this. The growing concern of increasing cases of on the mainland along with Kauai’s limited hospital capacity was the reason for the shift.

Unfortunately, there is a county bylaw that you cannot quarantine in a Vacation Rental so we won’t be seeing any visitors again for a little while again.

After months of planning and consultation, on October 15 the State of Hawaii opened back up to US tourism and introduced the Safe Travels Hawai’i Program that allows organized (and COVID-free) travelers to visit. And as of TODAY (November 19) the Governor Ige announced the state is open for Canadian Travellers starting mid-December. WestJet and Air Canada have just been announced as Pre-Travel testing partners for the State of Hawaii. We look forward to welcoming our Canadian guests back to our condo and the island of later this winter!

Yesterday, we ventured up to the of Kauai. Hanalei Bay and Princeville were simply spectacular. We found lots of parking at the Beach, plenty of Aloha at the Night Market and lovely food at all of the local restaurants (which were mostly all open now). It’s a great time to visit !

Spread the word, the Hawaiian Islands are now open for business, come visit! Note: you must produce a negative test from a certified/approved Partner available in the US Mainland and Japan) and by registering with Safe Travels Hawaii.

It’s good to be back. This rainbow welcomed us home this morning. As owners, we are so happy to be back on the island of . The Pre-Travel COVID test (with an authorized Partner) was a breeze and we were welcomed with a lot of Aloha at the airport! Some great news for all of our followers and future guests, Hawaii is open to accept visitors without a 14 day quarantine starting October 15. The State of Hawaiʻi’s COVID-19 pre-travel testing program for Hawaiʻi inbound travelers was announced in greater detail today, read up on more details below.

We have great availability in January/February/March, and the flights are still very reasonable.

We can’t wait to welcome our visitors to return to Kauai, please consider signing and help spread the word about this petition. The state of Hawaii has already announced a pre-arrival test strategy that comes into effect October 15. The Kauai Mayor is requesting an additional arrival test that would mean visitors would still have to quarentine for several days and undergo a secondary test. This will be challenging for the Kauai Tourism economy and concerns that visitors will choose to go elsewhere.

It's a glorious time to be on the island of Kauai! It's a rare opportunity that only those who are able to quarantine for 14 days can take at the moment. So for the next few months, we are looking for a longer term stay, are you a family who is interested in relocating to Kauai for a few months? A hidden gem in Poipu is the elusive Beach out front of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Our unit is less than a 5 minute drive to this beautiful spot which is popular for boogie boarders, surfers, and windsurfers who may get a kick out of the wave action. Although it’s not the ideal swimming beach, it has a nice white sandy beach for lounging and while you are at it, grab a post beach cocktail at the 🌺
