How to never get lost when you’re traveling, even if you’re not using your phone data.

Save this post for later! 📌

Step 1 - Make sure you’re traveling with a backup charger or battery pack. Even though you’re not using your data, you still want to have a charged phone.

Step 2 - Open the Google Maps app and search the city or cities you’re visiting.

Step 3 - Select the “offline maps” option then make sure the map shows all of the parts of the city you need — where your hotel is, and where you’ll be exploring/

Step 4 - Select “Download”

And voila, you can now use Google maps to navigate without having data or access to wifi.

Last Friday of freedom for me as the kids are done school next week.

This week's spotlight : Aruba
What to eat, see, and do:
• Eat : There are so many great restaurants, Sunset Grill was arranged through the hotel. Private table, feet in the sand and prime sunset views.
• See the beautiful beaches and crystal clear water in Aruba. We stayed at Palm Beach.
• Do the ATV tour taking you to snorkel in the natural pools and cliff jumping inside Arikok National Park

It's already Friday, I am in Toronto this weekend for a Ladies weekend, you can see what we are up to on my IG stories.

This week's spotlight : Florence, Italy
What to eat, see, and do:
• Eat : We had one of the best meals just on the other side of the water in the neighborhood of Oltrarno. We ate at Trattoria Boboli, in my opinion you can't go wrong with fresh pasta !
• See the city from Basilica di San Miniato.
• Do take a day trip to the Tuscany country side. We went to Castello di Verrazzano in the Chianti region. Tasting their wine, olive oil and cheese.

It's hard for me to pick just one European city as my favorite, Florence is definitely near the top. Have you visited Florence? What did you love/not love about it?

Happy Heat Wave Friday, this week's spotlight : Chicago.

What to eat, see, and do:
Eat at Aba Restaurant, a small plate Mediterranean restaurant with an amazing indoor/outdoor vibe. Everything we tried was delicious.
See the incredibly blue-green color of the Chicago river, and we were intrigued by the circular parking garages.
Do take the Chicago Architecture River Cruise and learn about the history of the of the buildings that make up the Chicago Skyline.

Happy Sunny Friday, this week's spotlight : Dubrovnik, Croatia.

What to eat, see, and do:
Eat at Panorama Restaurant for the views alone, although I ate the salmon dish and it was delicious.
See the different red roof colors while walking along the wall. The newer, brighter red are the ones replaced after the war in 1991.
Do spend some time at Sulic beach or for those Game of Thrones fans, I highly recommend the guided tour.
Have you visited Dubrovnik yet? What did you love/not love about it?

As of October 1st, 2022 all Travel restrictions will be lifted.
- No vaccination requirements
- No random on-arrival testing,
- ArriveCan is optional
- Masks on Planes and trains are optional.

Do you ever get vacation envy?

With the amount of time I spend researching and planning trips for clients, I’m constantly in a state of wanting to take other people’s vacations!

This month I have clients headed to Portugal and I won’t lie, I’m wishing I were headed back there too!

I loved our trip to Portugal for a few reasons: The food was so good and surprisingly affordable, the beaches in the Algarve were gorgeous and that European architecture.

And hopefully, I’ll be able heading back to another European country next year.

Is anyone counting down the days until summer vacations ? We are excited to travel back to Europe and explore Portugal this summer. We also try to make a bucket list of things to do and places to see in and around Ottawa. What do you have planned ?

Throwing it back to our Mexico trip. While there we experienced Ecopark Kantun Chi. There are 5 Cenotes and an underground river. We followed our guide down the ladder, into the underground river. This has to be one of the coolest experiences. Our guide taught us all about how the underground rivers are formed and the different rock formations. We ventured through the pools and narrow passageways. Everyone enjoyed visiting the different cenotes and doing a little bit of cliff jumping. The grounds and restaurant at Kantun-Chi were gorgeous. If you are visiting Mexico there are over 2,500 Cenotes to visit. Highly recommend checking one or several out.

Resort Review : We recently stayed at Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo in the Riviera Maya. The resort as a whole was gorgeous. A nice wide and long beach with beautiful white sand. Numerous pools, ranging from active to quiet. Wave pool, water slides and kids splash park with a pirate ship. The lazy river, was just that, lazy. It required a little bit of swimming to get around it. So many activities for those who wanted to participate.
This resort is part of a big complex, our Room was right in the middle. We could walk out to the pool, 5 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to the lobby infront. If you wanted to venture to the other properties, there were pathways throughout the resort and beach or you could hop on one of the passing golf carts.
Staying at the Lindo property, we were able to eat at A La Carte restaurants nightly. The food did not disappoint! The standout favorites were every appetizer at El Tapatio (Mexican) and the main meals at El Rancho (Steakhouse) The buffets for breakfast and lunch had almost anything you could ask for. The kids got in the habit of sampling the donut selection as their breakfast dessert. The fresh guacamole and Pico de Gallo was A+ !
The kids made it to the Star Camp on the last day, they didn’t want to leave.
Great recommendation for a Family Vacation.

Great News, Canada dropping pre-entry testing as of April 1st.

The federal government announced Thursday that it will do away with the pre-entry COVID-19 testing requirement for all fully vaccinated travellers coming to Canada, removing a major roadblock to the free flow of people.

Canada Eases Border Restrictions. As of February 28th Canadian travelers can take a cheaper and faster antigen test up to 24 hours prior to the return flight. Children under 12 who are not fully vaccinated and travelling with fully vaccinated adults will no longer need to quarantine. Lastly, the travel warning level will drop to level 2 - practice special precautions.

33 days ! We are escaping to the beaches of the Riviera Maya. Booked in at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. Water sports, wave pool, lazy river, water park, kids club and teens club. I don't think we will have a hard time keeping the kids busy and the adults happy !

Lots of changes being made today.

The federal government has confirmed that fully vaccinated Canadians taking short trips abroad will no longer need to present a pre-entry molecular (PCR) COVID-19 test to return home. The new policy kicks in on Nov. 30, 2021.
