Captain Laura To The Rescue!!!

On August 30th at approximately 1610hrs, a VHF transmission was received indicating one of our iconic Harbour Hoppers was having mechanical issues and had lost the ability to propel the vessel on her own and adrift with passengers onboard.

Captain Laura and crew M’airi jumped into action. Laura notified Halifax Marine Traffic that she was in the area and could assist with our vessel the “Mi Cabana”

The stricken Harbour Hopper was secured alongside our vessel and was in tow, when the Canadian Coast Guard arrived to assist.

This is another demonstration of Tiki Tours Halifax dedication to safety on our Halifax waterways.

Laura’s highly skilled training, marine expertise and awareness combined with constant upgrades to our vessels allowed us to assist our partners on the water and ensure everyone’s safe return. Mechanical issues in the marine world are common and I know we can rely on our friends and neighbours to help us out as well.

We are here to support and work with everyone in the Tourism and Marine Industry to make all Halifax tours a world class experience, on and off the water!

Major upgrades to the “Mi Cabana” this week. We’re upgrading the 60s to 2024 90hp 4 Stroke Mercury Outboards.

This is another demonstration of our commitment to safety, efficiency and the best experience possible for our guests.

With these upgrades, this vessel will have the capability to cover more of the amazing views of the Halifax Waterway and The Northwest Arm.

These engines were purchased from White Water Marine and will be serviced and maintained by them as well.

Tiki Tours Halifax will be cancelling all events today. Another demonstration of our commitment to keeping our clients safe. Based on today’s forecast of a combination of wind and rain, it would not be as enjoyable as it should be for our guests.

We offer all our clients a 100% refund for weather cancellations or an opportunity to reschedule your biggest event of the summer with us.

Any Saturday cancelled is a huge loss for a seasonal business and recent startup but we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you all today and look forward to seeing you in the future.

Tiki Nation,

It’s a beautiful day at the office, yesterday was the most amazing day ever and on my last tour, Miles joined me for his birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Miles! I want to thank all my family, friends and customers for the amazing birthday wishes!

This birthday was special for me and not about gifts and wishes. Yesterday I celebrated being born to two amazing people. My mom gave me her smile and my dad gave me his personality. My parents were both amazing people that made me who I am today, thanks mom and dad for bringing me into this world on July 19th and teaching me right from wrong.

Love and miss you both!
