Smart Home Features
Union House utilizes Google Home to provide information to guests and for music, adjusting lighting, and contacting us in the event you require any assistance. The system includes Nest displays in the kitchen and bedrooms, a smart speaker in the living room, a Nest Thermostat and Philips Hue lighting. You can turn off the microphones at any time if you have concerns about smart devices and privacy. Phones/devices can be streamed directly to the speakers using casting or Bluetooth. TV
All the bedrooms have flat screen televisions with Netflix and premium cable TV stations. The remote is fairly intuitive, but if you require assistance, please ask for a demo. Garbage and Recycling
Bins for garbage and recycling are located on the front deck. BBQ (May to October)
Please feel free to use the BBQ. It is connected to the natural gas supply and requires the red lever on the supply line (tucked behind the A/C unit) to be in the horizontal position to operate. To turn it off, return the lever to the upright position. Climate Control
The Nest thermostat is normally set to +/-20C. If you want it warmer or cooler, simply adjust the round k**b above the kitchen table to the desired temperature and it will cool or heat accordingly. You can also do this on the Google displays. The bunkie has it's own separately-controlled A/C unit. Water and Toilet
As you may be aware, drinking water is a precious commodity in Prince Edward County. Please conserve where you can. We're connected to Picton's municipal water system and the water out of the taps is suitable for drinking.
