Another Canadian National Fly Fishing Championship in the books. My team, NRP Allstars consisting of Jim Iredale, Brandon Higgs, John Nishi and Terence Courtoreille all worked together to secure the Team Bronze medal. With their help I managed to achieve the Individual Silver medal. I appreciate the organizers of the 20th Canadian National Fly Fishing Championship and look forward to the next. I also want to mention that without the support of my wife I would not have been able to achieve this goal. Tight lines, Clint

Pink Salmon regulations for 2023 have been posted on the DFO website. Note that only the mainstem Squamish river dowstream from the powerline crossing at 9 mile (1.5 km upstream of the confluence of the Cheakamus River) is open for catch and release only starting July 1, 2023!! That means no fishing for pink salmon in any of the tributaries including Mamquam, Cheakamus, Ashlu, or Elaho.

Sucks to have fires already especially in Squamish. People need to be more careful or we will be locked out of the forest like we were in 2003! Let’s not let that happen again!

The BC Wildfire Service is continuing to respond to the Shovelnose Creek fire (V30293), located at the 20 km mark along Squamish River FSR, west of the communities Squamish and Pemberton.
This fire is burning in steep, rugged, challenging terrain and is currently estimated at 17 hectares in size. Its status remains Out of Control, meaning further growth is expected. Crews responded into the night and will be supported by helicopters during the day. This fire is suspected to be human-caused. No critical infrastructure or homes are currently at risk.
Forest Service Roads in this area are popular for recreating. We ask the public to use caution when engaging in any activity that could start a fire. Please avoid areas where there are active wildfires burning for the safety of yourself and first responders.

View all active wildfires in B.C. at https://wildfiresituation.nrs.gov.bc.ca/map or download the BC Wildfire mobile app, available for free on all iOS or Android devices.

Today is a day to thank those whom gave their all for Canada. Meet Doug Brown who I met through Soldier On back in 2013. He is with me in the first 5 photos. Soldier On is a not for profit organization to help veterans with PTSD and other ailments following their service for Canada. Doug and I reunited last summer for another day on the water. During the visit he told me how important our first trip was to him and how it has helped him heal. Thank you Doug for your service. The last 4 pics are of another organization, Wounded Warriors Canada, that also helps veterans post service. I was fortunate to be able to guide them with the help of to a remote stream. It was a special day. Thank you for your service. And thank you to all veterans for your service.
