Happy Monday!

We enjoyed some sunshine here on Vancouver Island this weekend, but if you are still seeking sun, then let's connect I have lots of options for you.

Now when traveling, whenever someone is offering you something "free" be aware it is not free.

What I am talking about is those dreaded words "Time Share Sales", or "Vacation Club Membership" or "Special Ownership Groups".

You will be lured by say a free Luau in Hawaii, free tickets in Disney, free show tickets in Vegas or free excursions or spa treatments in Mexico and the sun destinations. You give up a few hours of your vacation to be told this is a special offer just for you.

Each time you decline, they will bring in their higher up, often sweetening the deal with each offer. But the question is.......is it really a good deal? Probably not.

Timeshare and memberships are extremely hard to get out of once you have signed the papers. I'm sure if a study was done, at least 70% of people would regret buying their timeshare. They can be extremely restrictive.

I have had quite elderly couples come back from Mexico and when I check in with them, they told me they bought a timeshare and how can I help them get out of it? Sadly travel agents are not lawyers and we can't assist.

We can only prepare you ahead of time. Don't get me wrong, I myself have been tempted.....we were at the Disney Aulani in Hawaii and had an amazing time and then you see their 2 bedroom units and go for a tour, but deep down inside I know I am not the kind of traveler that likes restrictions.

How to say no you ask? You could mentioned you are unemployed, say you are going through bankruptcy and so on, but honestly the best way is to just say "No Thank You" and keep walking with a purpose.

🌎Starting 2025 with a re-introduction!🌍

Hi, I'm Amanda Rauh your Travel Concierge. I have been working full time in travel for 26 years. ( I know how can I possibly that old????)

I consider myself an expert in traveling to Mexico -🇲🇽 I have had the pleasure of visiting the following areas: Acapulco, Tasco, Los Cabos, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Balandra Bay, Manzanillo, Barre de Navidad, Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Sayulita, Cozumel, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya as well as smaller cities near the archeological sights in Quintana Roo. (Ask me about climbing Coba while pregnant!).

Travel to Jamaica, Oahu, The Big Island, the Cook Islands, Bahamas, Belize, Grand Cayman and the Dominican Republic also round out my sun destination visits.

Moving over to other destinations, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria, Uganda, Morocco, New Zeland.

Along with most of your typical US destinations, we have also experienced Disneyland and DisneyWorld multiple times. We do love Disney.🎢

Cruises, Safaris, tours and more, you name it, I have probably done it or sold it!

Upcoming trips for 2025 are a cruise to Alaska 🛳 with the family, a conference in the Riviera Maya, a ladies group to Ireland and probably a quick trip to Mexico to look at some hotels in the fall. You can join us in Tahiti in November of 2026 aboard the Paul Gauguin as we explore this beautiful destination.

When not traveling you can usually find our family at the hockey rink as my boys are busy playing, reffing and coaching and myself volunteering.🏒

I truly have a passion for travel and for connecting people to the right kind of trips for them and their loved ones! Being a travel agent isn't easy, and it isn't just about finding a cheap price, it's about matching the client to the right product.
