After the competition, some of the comp members made their way to the Orange County Convention Centre for IAAPA 2024! IAAPA is the forefront of technological innovation within theme parks, every step in the grounds of the convention was a new exciting thing to see, innovating for both traditional rides and stage shows, it’s safe to say that they all had a blast!

Once again we’d like to thank Kathryn Woodcock for this amazing experience, she showed the group around the venue and helped them get familiar with all the ride manufacturers; an experience they will surly never forget!

Congratulations to the 2024 Thrill Design Competition team for completing their challenges! The team provided excellent results and we couldn’t be more proud!
In addition, they were able to travel through universal studios and meet many other teams!

ITS THE THRILL OF THE TRACK! TMU Thrill is proud to be teaming up with for our first Mario Kart Tournament! The event is free entry, and we will be giving away tons of prizes for winners! Make sure to rsvp by scanning the QR code or visiting our link in our bio!

Interested in learning about the behind the scenes of amusement park operations?

Come join us for lunch on April 2nd at 12-1 PM, as we chat with industry speaker, John Riggleman!

John Riggleman has worked in progressive leadership roles in Operations and Safety at Cedar Point, Soak City, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA, Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, SeaWorld, Hard Rock Park, Epcot, Elitch Gardens and Wild Waves. John joined Universal in 1998 as Manager of Ride and Show Operations, later promoted to Assistant Director of Operations of Islands of Adventure, and returned to Universal Parks & Resorts in 2012. He is currently on contract at Universal Creative. John has also held many roles in ASTM Committee F24 on Amusement Rides and Devices, chaired the University of Central Florida/Rosen College of Hospitality Management Theme Park Advisory Board, and was an Adjunct Professor at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and the NAARSO Education Committee. John has also received the IAAPA Certified Attraction Executive (ICAE) designation, and national ADA Coordinators training, and holds a M.B.A. from DeVry University, and B.S. in Medical Technology and B.A. in Chemistry from West Virginia University.

As per our previous post, up next on our roster is the ✨️Design Challege Mock competition✨️ !
— This event is similar to the Orlando Summer competition, giving a sneak peak of what to expect.

Prior to the event, teams will be formed.
— Our kickoff is on March 22, where the challenge will be introduced.
— Teams will have until March 26 to come up with a solution and present their design.

We are TMU Thrill club. Back again for another year of fun-filled themed entertainment. From amusement parks to escape rooms, our goal is to introduce this industry to a wider audience.
