Wow, what a whirlwind week and another incredible conference of networking & learning in the beautiful and very hospitable country of Jordan with so much culture & adventure to offer !! 🇯🇴

The Travel Agent Next Door TTAND is my host agency -they provide my back office & the support I need to run my travel agency-this was their EPIC 10th anniversary conference and it was amazing!

Our group of 300 were hosted by Royal Jordanian Airlines, The Jordan Tourism Board and G Adventures, where we dived deep into meaningful & impactful community travel with Planeterra as we moved seamlessly through our Jordan !!

We spent our final 2 nights in Aqaba on the Red Sea ! From our hotel room if you looked to the left was Saudi Arabia 28 km away and Egypt was to the right and the seaside resort town of Ilat, Israel directly in front of us -so close you could swim !

Day 6 of my conference in Jordan - Another action packed day ! We left Petra and drove a few hours to WADI RUM where our group of 300 set out in a convoy of 75 jeeps to ride thru the desert in 42 degree temperatures to find our Bedouin camp where we had lunch, we also got to go into one of the caves and saw petroglyphs! Travel tip - you have to wear runners or boots - I burnt my feet in the sand ! We then drove for about another hour to Aqaba for our last 2 nights in Jordan 🇯🇴












Wadi Rum (Arabic: وادي رم Wādī Ramm, also Wādī al-Ramm), known also as the Valley of the Moon (Arabic: وادي القمر Wādī al-Qamar), is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan, near the border with Saudi Arabia and about 60 km (37 mi) to the east of the city of Aqaba. With an area of 720 km2 (280 sq mi) it is the largest wadi (river valley) in Jordan.

Day 5 - Petra ……. Up early for a full day hiking at Petra in 42 degrees was an adventure in itself as the heat was grueling but omg what an amazing opportunity PETRA is magical ! and if that wasn’t enough our group of 300 hiked back in at 7 pm by candle light for a second time to the Treasury for a private performance at this UNESCO World SIte and we even had our name displayed in lights and ended with a cocktail at the cave bar 🇯🇴 ps It is not normally this hot in early may but JORDAN is experiencing a heat wave this week

Day 4 - We had a full confernce schedule attending break out sessions on 5 topics that are key to operating my travel agency. At 3:30 PM we boarded 8 buses to drive us 4 hours from below sea level at the Dead Sea to The Village of Petra arriving just before dark for dinner ! Day 2 ….. today was our first full day of conference !! Our founder Flemming spoke of TTAND’s conception in 2013 to now - 10 years later we also celebrate being the best host agency in Canada with over 1400 agents ! As we celebrate TTAND’s 10 year anniversary in Jordan it was a full day of learning what’s new from TTAND & from our supplier partners who have given up this week to be here with us !! TTANDs motto has always been what ever they do must be a win for the agent , a win for TTAND and a win for the supplier - they truly provide me everything I need to service my clients and do what I love to do - sell travel !, I love the networking opportunities that our conferences bring !! Our diner this evening was set up as a Bedouin Camp complete with the appropriate dress which we were gifted by The Jordanian tourist board !! Yes it was hot ! But a great experience !

In less than one week I will be heading to Jordan to join 224 agents, 32 suppliers, 20 head office staff, and travel press, this is for our annual conference. Our host agency, The Travel Agent Next Door, is celebrating their 10 year anniversary and has gone above and beyond to make this an amazing experience, including chartering an entire plane with Royal Jordanian Airlines. To say I am excited is an understatement and I can't wait to share the pictures along the way as we visit this beautiful country.

We are being hosted by G Adventures & The Jordanian tourist board who will ensure this is the trip of a lifetime. We will be moving around a lot, staying in three different hotels, and meeting with our top suppliers to better help our clients plan their perfect vacations.
