It does NOT always pay to get the cheaper guy to do the work!
I literally just left a client who had a guy come into her home, promise her the world only to leave her in actual tears with the "quality" of work. Took them for roughly $5k and disappeared. I only thought stuff like this is on HGTV, not in my own backyard. People need to realize if you want professional, you pay for professional. Hence the prefix PRO-fessional.
This guy has also burned others in our small town.
And it sucks because he gives honest contractors a bad rap.
People, please please ask for references before you accept a price for anything. If they refuse, you refuse. Or better yet, use social media to your advantage. Ask others about a certain contractor or company. Key board warriors have no filter and will tell you exactly how they feel.
And for you guys who have no common decency when if comes to taking advantage of hardworking, honest, trustworthy people shame on you! How would you feel if your loved ones got taken for a ride like you do these people? If you can't make a honest living at contracting, quit. Find a place with an hourly wage and leave the contractor work to the guys who know what they doing. In other words, to the Pros.
