Her students have signed major recording, distribution, management and artist development contracts working with producers like L.A. Reid, Ludacris, Bryan-Michael Cox and with labels like; Warner Music, Universal, Motown Records, Capitol Records, R.C.A. Sony and with The Weekend and Timberland management teams. Paula is a classically trained singer and a graduate from The University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She is also a certified Specialist of Vocal Styles from The Berklee College of Music. As a leading expert in vocal training, Paula is the Professor of Vocal Studies at Seneca College for the Independent Music program. Paula developed a one of a kind curriculum, where she created the first Pop, R&B, Contemporary vocal program credited by a College or University in Canada. Paula is best known for her beautiful and powerful voice and has performed for Quincy Jones and Elton John, worked with Grammy award winner Jill Scott and was mentored by multi Juno award winner Canadian Jazz singer Liberty Silver. She has also been a featured vocalist at Roy Thompson Hall, The C.N.E., The Living Arts Centre, Massey Hall, Liberty Grand, The Sony Centre and CBC Radio-Canada’s Glenn Gould Studio. Her performance experience also extends into film and television to which her credits include national Canadian and American Commercials. In addition, Paula has worked with top New York, Toronto and L.A. producers who have created music for other artists like Drake, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, James Brown and Mary J Blige. She has also produced, written and recorded three original albums ‘Freedom’, ‘Chosen’ and ‘Starlight and has been featured in numerous recordings by other artists. This year her latest song, “Wish upon a Star”, engineered by Grammy Award winner Innam Haq, was chosen to be the sound track for a movie and music video for 2017. She is currently working on an EP of inspirational ballads called “Dream On”, an album of Jazz classics titled ‘Moonlighting’ and writing a dynamic futuristic R&B, Soul-Rock album called “Glory”. Paula’s amazing vocal range and experience performing in the styles of Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Pop, Musical Theatre and Rock have made her one of the most trusted and skilled vocal coaches to some of the brightest stars in the music industry. For 20 years Paula has studied and researched the best techniques used by artists who have won over 160 Grammy awards collectively. With all her singing, performing and recording experience, Paula has created her own unique method that have had amazing, fast and proven results! Whether it’s a new artist searching for their voice or an established artist who needs to be prepped for master recording sessions and appearances, singers who value their craft always seem to find their way to Paula. She trains aspiring singers at the Grammy Award winning Cherry Beach Sound Recording Studios, located in Toronto; home to artists like Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Drake. Paula is also a vocal producer who consults with labels, vocalists and producers on in-studio vocal production and works as an intermediary between producer and artist as needed for their vocal delivery and editing for recording sessions.
