Travel advisors are facing unprecedented challenges as they help stranded clients return home.

Here's a quick rundown:

- High call volumes & long waits: Advisors hit a wall trying to make alternative arrangements for their clients.

- Limited refunds: WestJet Vacations only offered refunds for the air portion of canceled trips.

- WestJet's plea: The airline asks for patience as they work to get their fleet back in the air.

- ACTA - Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors_'s stance: The Association calls for fair compensation for travel advisors' efforts and full responsibility from airlines for cancellations.

Landed back home this week after an incredible journey through Italy, all thanks to Collette for choosing me as one of their brand ambassador.

Our last days in Italy included two days in Stresa, beside the tranquil Lake Maggiore. This was the perfect wrap up to a trip filled with stunning landscapes, rich culture, and delicious food.

From the historic streets of Rome to the enchanting canals of Venice, and the serene beauty of Stresa, each place offered its unique charm and stories.

Be kind to the airline representatives that are working hard to help when a trip is delayed or cancelled.

Be kind to those traveling with you.

Be kind to your travel advisor.

And be kind to yourself.

When these things are beyond your control the best thing you can do is take a deep breath and remain calm. Staying calm will help you better understand the situation and work with the airline to determine the best course of action.
