I know it was only a few days ago when I said that I was putting my “95EH-ing” on pause until March-ish — HOWEVER — I also included an airtight loophole by mentioning that I would be babysitting the two AB farm kittens that we recently relocated to a friend’s house in BC (where a one-eyed cat named Maple also lives).

So, for a belated ‘Caturday Update’ here is:

PIC1: Bear (who may be called Homer now by his owners, but I think cats are allowed nicknames, so I still call him Little Bear) wears a party hat.

PIC2: I’ve never bought anything on FB Marketplace before, but these 3 records for $15 was too good of a deal to scroll past 🤘

PIC3+4: Maple was not originally too enthused about there being two new rambunctious kittens in her living space, but now, after almost 3 months of being together, she seems to be enjoying hanging out & chilling with them more & more (even if she still mostly prefers her space).

Also… please keep in mind that it’s a sad day out there for those people who have made “F*ck Trudeau” their entire political opinion, so please give them space as they wait for the consensus on who to “f*ck” next to be handed down to them 🙃

OK, I will go back to putting my social media on pause again — HOWEVER — I have two more days of kittysitting to do, so maybe it will be more of a… “paws” 😽😽

🗣 Hey… just jumping online real quick to say that a 'MONTHLY EH?!' for December was sent out on the last day of 2024 + that newsletter is also available to anyone to read over on MOUNTOWN.SUBSTACK.COM on whatever day/year it is now 👍

In it, I talk about some of my usual 'top of mind' topics (and maybe I share a related Terrence McKenna quote or 2) — BUT — for those who don't want to click over or don't end up reading the whole thing, I also quietly announce that I will be putting the whole 95EH operation back on 'indefinite pause' until AT LEAST the end of February 2025 (but I'm thinking probably longer given past/current/future realities).

We were so excited to receive this letter from Santa this morning! See you Christmas Eve!
"The magic of the holiday season is once again coming to life, and we are excited to announce that Santa and his friends are returning to spread joy, wonder, and holiday cheer to everyone in our wonderful community.

We are thrilled to confirm that Santa’s annual tour of Kimberley will be happening once again, thanks to the support of the Kimberley Fire Department. Starting on December 24th at 4:30 p.m., Santa will begin his festive journey, winding through the streets of Kimberley before embarking on his global adventure.

For the safety of everyone, Santa will not be able to accept treats during his journey this year. While we deeply appreciate the kind gestures in past years, it is difficult to see people approaching the truck, so we kindly ask that everyone stay back.

You can track Santa’s progress in real-time using the web-based app SANTAFD.APP, which works best on Google Chrome. We’ll also be posting updates on the Fire Department’s page.

Here are the approximate times and areas where you can expect to see Santa:

· Marysville: 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
· Forest Crowne: 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
· Blarchmont: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
· Chapman Camp: 7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
· Downtown (including Halpin): 7:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The big guy’s annual Christmas Eve tour of is ready to roll thanks to the support of Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services.

Santa Claus’ Christmas Eve tour, confirmed today by the North Pole PR team, is a long-standing community tradition, and a very popular one at that.

“The Cranbrook Firefighters are so happy to continue this tradition, as there are generations of families that make a point to come out and get a quick glimpse of Santa on Christmas Eve,” says Scott Driver, Director of Fire & Emergency Services. “We are grateful that Santa’s tour on Christmas Eve continues to be part of so many cherished family memories.”

The tour through the community will start Tuesday, December 24 at 4:00pm, escorted by off-duty members of Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services. Every effort will be made to have Santa visit as many areas of the community as possible on Christmas Eve. The overall schedule provided is an estimate.

I am so grateful to all you wonderful people who manage to find your way through the wilds of the Blarchmont back alleys every Wednesday at 5 pm to take a gamble on some rustic baking at The Bread Peddler.
Please allow an extra 10 or 17 or even 30 minutes for your bread foray this Monday: I would love to offer you a mug of something warm and a tasty treat. Mostly, though, I want to be able to have a proper chat with y’all while Wayne serenades us with some smooth guitar work and the special Bread Peddler elves work inside.

Hope to see you Monday. 5-8 pm. 😍

The usual: don’t drive into the alley, instead, park on the street and walk through our yard on the winding and whimsical lit pathway.
