There are few deals I come across better than KIDS SAIL FREE and the ‘B’ family is using it to their FULL advantage with a 7 night sailing on Independence of the Seas!

They scored a JUNIOR SUITE for a phenomenal price! Both children and parents are going to have a wonderful time exploring the Caribbean ports, enjoying sunshine and pool time, and won’t have to worry about cooking or cleaning for an entire week. That’s my kind of vacation 😉

SEA WORLD ORLANDO review:

Our second day in Orlando was spent at Sea World. It was an easy 12 minute Uber ride from Universal property and opened at 10am.

We purchased the (on sale) all-day-dining deal for $29.99 usd per person, which gave us a drink, entree, and dessert every 90 minutes 😯 Their portion sizes were massive and it was so much food, but we came out ahead.

We prioritized the shows and saw the Orca and Dolphin Encounter, as well as the Flippers and Facts Sea Lion show. Each were fantastic albeit short (like 20 minutes long) and they focus on education over performance. You still got to see the mammals showing off their skills though.

We wandered through Sesame Street Land and did a few of the small rides, rode Atlantis (their log ride/water coaster hybrid), and explored the aquariums and shark tunnel.

They closed at 6pm so that pretty much was the day. There are some larger coasters if you want to do them, but you wouldn’t have time to do all those AND see all the shows, so you need to prioritize.

We had fun, but I think it’s a ‘one and done’ for us.

Did someone say FREE TIPS!? Yes! They got that!

We snagged the ‘F’ couple one of very last ocean view rooms left on Holland Americas Zaandam next July to Alaska!

What an itinerary they’re getting! Inside passage, Skagway, Ketchikan, Tracy Arm Inlet, AND Glacier Bay! They are in for quite the scenic adventure 🧊 🐋 🦦

REVIEW: Discovery Cove Orlando

Our first day in Orlando last week was spent at Discovery Cove. This gorgeous spot is advertised as being an all inclusive day resort and it did not disappoint!

We arrived by 8:00am and after check-in was quickly greeted with a coffee cart and full buffet breakfast. There was eggs, ham, bacon, pastries, veggies, waffles, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, and more.

At 900am all the pools and activities were open. We had booked the dolphin swim, which was happening at 10:15am, so we enjoyed the main lagoon pool and winding river (which is very long and takes almost 40 minutes to complete.) Sunscreen, towels, snorkels, wet suits are all included!

Our Dolphin Encounter lasted about 30 minutes. We were taught all kinds of facts about different species of dolphins and also had the opportunity to touch their backs, fins, and have them kiss our check for a photo. They taught us some of the hand gestures used during training and then we got to do a ‘dolphin pull’ where they carried us across 15-20 feet of the pool.

After our activity we walked across the powdery white sand to our buffet lunch, which had salmon, rice, burgers, chicken nuggets, fries, wraps, salads, and desserts. The kids enjoyed getting Icees and Soft Serve ice cream through the afternoon as well.

Later we explored the Aviary where you could hand feed tropical birds and then headed to the Grand Reef where we snorkeled with giant sting rays and tropical fish. YES, this was all included!

We made sure to grab pizza and ice cream around 4pm for dinner before the entire place closed at 5pm. We also grabbed some freshly warmed cookies and pretzels to snack on on the way out.

Discovery Cove was one of our family’s top highlights of the entire week. It was relaxing, educational, and fun! We will definitely be coming back in the future for a visit!

We’ve been able to walk on almost everything - including Hagrids (which has a notoriously long wait time!)
