The Vancouver Island North region begins in the heart of the Nimpkish Valley, near Mount Cain, just south of the community of Woss, and continues north to Cape Scott Provincial Park at the windswept northern tip of Vancouver Island. The region also extends across Queen Charlotte and Johnstone Straits to a section of the mainland coast which includes a swath of the Great Bear Rainforest.

Update on Telegraph Cove: Open for the 2025 season!

We look forward to welcoming you back to Telegraph Cove Resort for the 2025 season. Despite recent challenges, we remain committed to providing memorable whale watching & kayaking experiences.

All of our on-water adventures will continue as usual—nothing has changed when it comes to exploring the stunning waters and encountering the incredible marine wildlife that makes this region so special. The beauty and magic of the ocean await you!

We are working closely with Telegraph Cove Resort to arrange temporary accommodations for our office, store, storage, and crew quarters. While our check-in process will look a little different next season, our dedicated team will ensure a smooth and welcoming experience from start to finish.

We are grateful for your continued support and can’t wait to share unforgettable adventures with you in 2025!

An update from the owners of Telegraph Cove Resort & Campground.
"A significant structural fire in the early hours of December 31, 2024, has left parts of Telegraph Cove Resort in smouldering ruins, marking a tragic end to the year for the beloved coastal BC destination. The fire has destroyed a portion of the boardwalk, the Old Saltery Pub and Killer Whale Café, the Wastell Manor heritage house along with the beloved educational Whale Interpretive Centre, Prince of Whales offices and staff housing."

Please read this important update about the Structural Fire in Telegraph Cove. ⤵️

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Structural Fire at Telegraph Cove

Telegraph Cove Resort became aware of an active structural fire on our property early this morning, December 31, 2024. The resort has been closed for the off-season since October 31, 2024. No guests were on-site at the time of the fire.

There is no access to the property and we kindly request that you do not attempt to enter the property for safety reasons.

We are cooperating with local authorities and emergency fire services, who have brought the fire under control and will assess the damage and determine the cause.

We deeply appreciate the efforts of the first responders and the ongoing support of our community during this challenging time. We will share updates on our website as they become available.
