BEHIND DIAMOND: Meet Alison, Our HR Generalist🌟

We’d like to introduce Alison, who’s been with Diamond Hotels for an incredible 3 years! Starting out as a Guest Service Representative at our Delta hotel, Alison quickly moved into Human Resources, where she now excels as our HR Generalist.

🧩Fun Fact: Alison LOVES puzzles and can spend hours working on them. Plus, the gym is her happy place!

🍫Office Snack: Alison’s go-to snack is chocolate, and she’s always stocked up for her candy cart runs to keep the Delta staff happy.

🍷Favourite Memory: Alison’s top memory at Diamond is the Wine Tour she enjoyed with the team in September 2023.

Our team was grateful to participate in CIBC’s Run for the Cure yesterday, standing with hundreds in Kingston to support breast cancer research💗 It was inspiring to see Kingston come together to raise over $160,000 for this important cause. This experience reminded us of the impact we can have in our communities. We look forward to joining again next October!

Big shoutout to our uptown properties (Quality Inn & Conference Centre Kingston Central, Comfort Suites Kingston Central, & Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kingston Central) for rocking our annual post-Earth Day clean-up! We rolled up our sleeves and made our grounds shine - uniting for a cleaner, greener tomorrow🌎

And, you know we had to celebrate afterward with a delicious BBQ on the Comfort Suites patio! It was such a beautiful day to be outdoors, a perfect reminder of how much we all benefit from and enjoy our green spaces. Cheers to keeping our hood clean and green, folks🌱✨

This week our management team embarked on a journey to Bethesda, Maryland - home to Marriott International headquarters🏢💼 - where we had the incredible opportunity to participate in an immersive in-person workshop as part of our Executive Excellence and Guest Experience program.

Over the course of one and a half days, we delved deep into the details of the Marriott brand, standards, tools, and training, all aimed at enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

The agenda was filled with enlightening sessions, featuring live demos and trainings from Marriott experts across various fields, including global quality, Marriott Bonvoy, digital guest experiences, multicultural affairs & social impact, and more🧠 We also had the chance to connect with Marriott executives and fellow franchise management companies, picking up some awesome industry insights and perspectives🤝

But it wasn't all work and no play! Amidst the workshops and meetings, we made sure to carve out time for some well-deserved fun. We cheered on the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards⚾ and explored the historic landmarks of Washington DC, including the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, and the Washington Monument🦅

As we bid farewell to Bethesda we're filled with excitement and determination. We've learned, laughed, and grown together as a team, and we're eager to harness this newfound inspiration to drive innovation and excellence in everything we do.

Here's to the next chapter of our journey towards hospitality excellence! 🚀
