💥Explosive Strength is key which you develop from plyometrics, box drills, stretch jumps, and leg conditioning.
This post includes alternative tuck initiation drills which comes from Hip Flexors conditioning- as the pull to tuck is pulling into Flexion of the hip.
A strong core/back and glutes is required to stabilize during the quick firing of the hip flexors. Here are some fun - hip flexor back tuck specific drills.
💥Jump to Tuck - work for full extension of the arms in the set and to land up HIGH in candle tuck position aiming for toes to point towards the ceiling - so that if rotation was completed the full circle would be made.
💥Weighted tuck jumps, use 4-8lbs depending on age of dancer, tuck jump catch the weighted ball
💥Kick up the mat
💥Hip Flexor conditioning with band
💥Backwards rolls
💥Knee pop up from floor to box jump
