Day 2 was a trip to see Lady Buddha then off to Marble Mountain. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of us squeezing through the cave or all the marble statues. Whoops!

Our first full day in DaNang rained pretty hard. We were able to duck into a couple of markets for a bit of reprieve and then a little side street coffee shop (someone’s living room I think!) where they set up little tiny chairs and tables for us 😊 The evening ended with a stroll along the river, which happens to be the area that is the view from our room. So many lights and flowers. It’s all really pretty and so clean along there. We continually see pride of work everywhere.

Our Yacht
Our 54 foot, Kufner Yacht was built in 2016 and refitted in 2020. It features a fully stocked kitchenette, indoor dining and lounging area. On deck there is open seating and lounging space on the bow and seating and lounging in a covered area on the stern. The yacht features 4 cabins, with showers located in each of the shared bathrooms and one on deck to use for rinsing off after a swim.

Every space on our yachts is designed for functional potential. The upper deck offers a lounge where you can enjoy the view or learn sailing 101. Below deck, the cozy galley is where you can share a bite with the group. It leaves room for you to get an authentic sailing experience aboard our eight-passenger vessels, or just relax and watch the pros handle things.

Last fall I had the opportunity to enjoy a week long river cruise with Avalon Waterways. I was on board Avalon Impressions for the Danube Dreams (Eastbound) itinerary. We began in Vilshoven, Germany and completed our journey in the stunning city of Budapest, Hungary.

Waking up every day in a new location, with a magical new village or city to explore. Enjoying delicious, gourmet meals. Staff that left you wanting for absolutely nothing. A spotless, organized, beautiful ship. Yoga early in the mornings, hikes through the hills later in the day. Guided tours through towns, concerts in the evenings. The list goes on.

As I reflect on my time there, it really makes me want to go back and experience Europe like that again. I would really love to see the Christmas markets this way. All the hassle removed. No worrying about transportation between markets, or trying to find accommodations. Simply, just the ease of waking up and walking off the ship to enjoy the sites.
