#14 Haley Ryan is another one of the bright young stars of Newfoundland & Labrador.
Last year Haley captained the AAA Eastern Ice Breakers as well as Team Newfoundland & Labrador at the Canada Winter Games in PEI. In NL's Female U18 Major Female AAA Hockey League in 2022-23, Haley took home multiple awards including Top Forward, League MVP, and was the top points earner (41 points on 25 goals and 16 assists).
She is also one of the staff for our DHP Female Development Program instructing our youth in how to be the best player they can be.
Haley is currently a freshmen playing Hockey with the University of Maine Black Bears where she has put up 6 goals and 2 assists through 13 games.
Three of those goals came Saturday night when Haley put up a natural hat trick, including a short handed goal to propel the Black Bears to a 6-3 win over Dartmouth.
Here's the clip of the Hatty goal. What a BEAUTY!

🚨 DHP in the MEDIA 🚨 - NTV Evening News
🚨 DHP in the MEDIA 🚨- CBC Here & Now
In what might be one of the most lopsided games you will ever see, Team NL walked away from Game #1 against the Team NWT with a 9-0 WIN. One would think that the score may be the story from this game but that is not the case. The Story is Team NWT Goalie Ellie Loutitt who faced 73 shots, yes you read that right. 73 Shots on goal from Team NL to 4 SOG by Team NWT.
All in all, every player on Team NL looked great today. Wicks, Shea and Mercer anchored a very impressive backend from Team NL that moved the puck very effectively. Our own Beth Pitcher scored a couple of beauty goals as well. Beth can straight Rip it!
Team NL return to action against Team Yukon on Tuesday at 1pm NL time.
Go Team NL!
What a Canada Games for these 2 guys!!! While the theme for the video was “Perfect Shots” we have a lot more to say about these two.
We take great pride in the fact that DHP played a large role in the development of such quality players and more importantly, quality young men.
Patrick Lambe was fantastic from puck drop in Game #1 to the very end of the tournament. Most notably, Patrick was relied upon very heavily in a penalty killing role, a job reserved for your best defenders. The Team NL PK was stellar all tournament thanks in large part to the steady and reliable play of Patrick Lambe. It is hard to pick a favorite Lambe moment from the tournament. Watching him Clear the front of the net on the PK was so dialed in but he also had that beauty of a goal against NWT in the preliminaries.
Jabez Seymour lead all Team NL players in scoring through the preliminary round and elimination game. Jabez was, in our opinion, the most noticeable forward on the ice in all the games he played, for all the right reasons. A true 2-way center who showed both that his offensive and defensive abilities are on par with some of the best players in the tournament. Again, it’s hard to pick a favorite Seymour moment because his 2nd period goal against Team PEI where he striped the defender and went bar down was just filthy, but Jabez really stood out when he was given the assignment to shut down Hockey Phenom, Gavin McKenna from Team Yukon. McKenna is one of the most gifted players in the Country and already touted to be a high-level NHL Draft pick. To watch Jabez in the preliminaries, go head-to-head every shift and shut down McKenna was truly amazing.
We cannot say enough good about these two players, and we promise to continue to share news and report on the great things they do on their hockey journeys.
Congratulations on a great tournament lads. You made us all so very proud!
Congratulations Kirsten Doody! You are the winner of the DHP Christmas Giveaway. Thank you all for your continued support in DHP and for participating in this fun giveaway.

Some folks in our Port aux Basque area have been asking for more info on Power Skating and DHP so here it is. DHP started five years ago with our first offering being Power Skating. The individualized instruction we offer is really the bread and butter of our programs and the reason why we are where we are today.
The simplest things such a stride mechanics and edge work can have a bigger impact on a player’s game than stickwork ever could. It is at DHP Power Skating where we will teach and correct your young players’ skating to help get them to the next level and realize their own hockey goals.
In the clip below, world renowned Power Skating Coach, Barb Underhill explains just how important Mechanics and Edge Work truly is.
Our DHP West Power Skating Camp Powered by TRUE Hockey is starting Monday, Nov 28th for 4 weeks with DHP lead Instructor Linda Massie. This camp is open to the U11 and U13 age groups. The location will be at the Bruce II Sports Centre in Port aux Basques from 2:45-3:45pm every Monday.

At DHP there is not much out there that we don't see. Last weekend the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League held their annual QMJHL Cup where the best 15 year old players from the Atlantic Provinces compete in a tournament to showcase their skills for a multitude of Q league scouts.
The QMJHL released this little promo video after the tournament explaining such via their twitter account.
The video highlighted some high profile names from the tournament like Paul, Conrad, McGuigan, and NLs stud goaltender Hickey. We noticed another name highlighted in the video.
We couldn't be prouder of this young man. Keep working Jabez Seymour, DHP got your back!

Our very own Jabez Seymour making his presence known at the QMJHL Cup for Team NL this weekend. In a very strong game against PEI Jabez put up a goal and an assist in the victory.
