Yesterday we said goodbye to our amazing G Adventures group. We’ve all had a great 12-days on the Vietnam Family Adventure. We leave this amazing country with 18 new friends and countless great memories 💜

Today we left the busy city for the Mekong Delta, where we tasted some amazing fresh fruit, learned a bit about the local culture, and had an amazing lunch! We get to spend the night at a local home stay before going back to the city tomorrow

This afternoon we visited the Planeterra Foundation Oodles of Noodles, Hoi An, Vietnam for a noodle making class. It is included in the G Adventures itinerary and everyone had a lot of fun, not to mention a great lunch!

After a beautiful drive over a mountain pass and along the coast we arrived in Hoi An yesterday afternoon. The entire city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and though it is busier than I remember it being when I was last here in 2010, it is still so very beautiful ❤️

After a 13 hour overnight train we arrived in the imperial city of Hué, ancient capital of Vietnam. After a quick breakfast we got out to explore the citadel, followed by a motorcycle tour to the countryside

Yesterday we got out of the city for 24 hours on our Halong Bay cruise: we did some kayaking, saw some monkeys, and got to know our new friends. Today we came back to Hanoi and visited the train street again (and saw a train this time). Tonight we get on our overnight train to Hué

Started the day with an egg coffee, and this afternoon we had an included cyclo tour of the Old Quarter, followed by a water puppet show, then noodle soup for dinner 🍜

Tomorrow we leave the city behind and head out on Halong Bay

Day 1 in Hanoi: a wander through the old quarter, coffee on the “train street”, and an amazing lunch at Hanoi Food Culture Restaurant & Cooking Class! Now back at the hotel for a rest before meeting with our G Adventures tour group later this evening

Pro tip for anyone heading to the sun without checked luggage: I found these sunscreen sticks at Walmart for my recent trip to Mexico and they are great! They’re solid (like deodorant) so don’t count as liquid/gel in your carry on, and work great too!

I just got back from a week with my family at the 4* Crown Paradise Club Cancún and we all had such an amazing time!

With a great kids club, lots of activities, a beautiful beach, a variety of pools (including a quiet, adults only pool with a swim up bar), and great service, this resort has something for everyone. And my favourite part is that ALL of the rooms have an amazing ocean view, and it’s got rooms large enough to accommodate families of 7!!!!! Plus, it’s only a 20 minute transfer from the airport ✈️
