As mentioned Mr. Greeg Caren President & CEO PCV. during the very informative and honourable event, the history behind the name (Philadelphia), as Coptic Christian I know as a lot others Coptic and Greek that Philo means (Love, beloved, dear) so the full meaning of the city of Philadelphia Φιλαδέλφεια is The City of Brotherly Love.
φίλος phílos (beloved, dear, or loving) and ἀδελφός adelphós (brothers or siblings)
But as a history lovers (and as a descendant of a the Egyptian Pharos) I dug deeper, found out that behind the name is an Egyptian his (that is why I was called to find out more about it, I felt it)
The name of city named after Ptolemaios II Which was on of the Pharos whom rules Egypt and he get married to his full sister Arsinoë II, as marriages between siblings were totally normal for Egyptian Pharos. So his fellow Greeks gave him the epithet Philádelphos, meaning “the Sibling-Lover, as earlier described verb philéō, meaning “to love and noun adelphós, meaning “sibling or brothers.
