Spent the afternoon in beautiful Sintra today enjoying the sights. Good food and good friend. A great way to end our stay in Portugal.

Had to bid farewell to our home the last 3 weeks. Hope to return next year. On our way to Lisbon now and then home tomorrow. It’s been an awesome long stay in Portugal with our group. There was so much to see and do. A wonderful escape from the snow and cold at home.

Sagres Portugal. Such an amazing place. Known as “The end of the world” this area on the most Southwestern tip of Portugal felt so different than any other areas we have visited in the Algarve. Known as a surfers paradise it’s a quaint (and windy) place that has a town with restaurants surfer shops. Lots of camper trailers seen here…with the odd hippy van among them.

Spent a day visiting nearby Faro, Olhao, and Tavira. They were all wonderful and unique. I loved how in Olhao, they have built boat planters and local artists have painted them.

Starting today all visitors to the UK will need the new ETA. The ETA costs £10 and allows multiple visits to the UK for up to six months at a time. It will be valid for two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. Everyone, including babies and children, will need an ETA and travellers can apply on behalf of others.

The ETA will be required for visits such as tourism, business, visiting family and friends, short-term study and even just transiting through the UK (so even flights connecting in the UK).
