Good afternoon from Sierra Travel! We always like to keep you up to date in our travel world and this is a BIG one that you might want to know about. On May 28 the Sunwing aircraft will take it's last flight. Moving forward all planes will be operated by Westjet however Sunwing Vacations is still in business! Confusing right!?

Here is a breakdown and a little incentive of why you might want to book more than 60 days in advance for all future bookings with Sunwing Vacations. Once the integration is complete on May 28, all new bookings will transition to Westjet's checked bag policy which allows one free carry on but you have to pay for your checked bag which is the opposite of what Sunwing does. If you book more than 60 days in advance with Sunwing they will waive this and you get a free checked bag! Any of you that are considering a vacation in the Fall or Winter with Sunwing Vacations will want to book early for this reason.

A little more that you might want to know about when you book with Sunwing Vacations. Before you travel you are with Sunwing Vacations right up to when you check in with the airline which will be Westjet. Once you are in your destination you are back with Sunwing, however the majority of travellers will only need support from Nexus which serves both Westjet and Sunwing when you are in your destination. When you check in to return home you will do this on the Westjet app and then once you return home if you have concerns with you vacation package this would be with Sunwing Cares. For our clients you basically just need to get the Westjet App on your phones and we will give you your reservation code to see your flight information with Westjet. It's confusing but actually not too bad. I also like that we should now be able to access the free family seating with Westjet that we couldn't get with Sunwing. This is for families with children who are 13 and under with Westjet and based on availability.

So... Good news over here!! Yesterday we advertised our 3 favourite properties to book in PUERTO VALLARTA!! And... today we have them available for less money! Who doesn't like that ?? We quite often hunt for what we feel is the "best deal" and not the "cheapest vacation" because quite often the cheapest is not the best and we would actually prefer not to book them! What we do like to book is quality resorts and resorts that we have been to or are very familiar with!! This flight leaves from. EDMONTON on March 26th on direct SUNWING flights!
