When I started boxing at Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy John Menezes was my first coach and he was everything you hope a couch would be. If I win my fight in November it's 90% his doing. He is such an amazing coach, family man and all around good person. I don't know how he had any extra time in his life at all with jobs and marriages and all those kids at home but he always made time for us old guys at the gym (as a volunteer!!!)

His wife is also struggling with some health issues right now and I can't think of a better cause to fight for than to directly help the guy who has helped me so much.

Before I left for Calgary I had been training at Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy for about 3 years but I had never actually had a fight. I've decided to change that. Nov 24th I've signed up for a white collar boxing event. I'd love you to come or at least buy a ticket! (I need to sell 10). So if you'd like to see me beat someone up (or get beat up!) tickets can be purchased at this link.
If you'd like to support me but can't buy a ticket (I realize my Calgary network is rather small) I'd also really appreciate even more if you'd support my charity of choice which I will outline in the next post.
