Elan doesn't own a home, a yacht or take vacations, but he does own an airplane (pre-owned!). Nice choice. He flew 150,000 miles in 2018. "I mean, the one exception is the plane, but if I don't use the plane then I have less hours to work..."
Many companies have discovered that it's actually less expensive to charter their employees to the 4,000+ airports in the US, get their teams closer to where they need to be in significantly less time, costs less in the big picture. Owning an aircraft also gives write offs and something to sell in the end.

Need to move packages, expensive equipment, a charter may be your solution.
Reduce the amount of handling and transfers that are required so that your shipments arrive in one piece.
Did you know that before each flight, a pre-flight inspection is carried out on your plane to make sure that everything is ok?
The pilot performs a walk around before the flight to make sure that everything is ok.
This is to maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition and ensure your safety on the aircraft.
Once in while, an engineer will spot something that is not right, and affects the safety of the aircraft, and needs to fix it before the next flight.

For many operators, the COVID-19 pandemic has curtailed most international flying for more than two years. This sustained reduction in long-haul travel has impacted many aspects of business aviation, but among the most severely affected are those pilots who have been unable to maintain their training and flying experience.
As overseas travel ramps up, pilots must ensure they are ready to fly international missions.
Despite the pandemic, war in Ukraine and the oil prices, private jets are soaring ahead at full steam.
First modification: 03/13/2022 - 09:38 Geneva (AFP) – Airlines have suffered from the effects of climate awareness, the pandemic and now high oil prices. But private jet operators have not recorded such positive results for a long time. The fear of the coronavirus and the suppression of many sched...

Is function more important than title?
Over the last few weeks I have been learning and unlearning a lot from one wise gentleman.
Before my unlearning, I was of the opinion that function was more important than title.
That was until I learnt a few important lessons.
The title that we give to a professional confers value.
🩺When we hear doctor we imagine a well trained professional that we trust with our health.
🧑✈️When we hear Pilot/ First Officer we immediately assume they are professionals and we place a certain image and give value.
👩🏽✈️When we hear Captain, we immediately assume they have honed their skills and are at the top of their career.
🧰When you hear mechanic, do you assume the same level of professionalism as doctor or Captain?
Engineers who release aircraft are referred to as mechanics, or technicians.
I’ve heard engineers referred to by derogatory names that I won’t mention on social media.
We’ve all seen this, when a company doesn’t want to pay the worth of a title, they change the title and change the pay scale.
When the industry doesn’t put value on a profession, the profession loses it value.
A mechanic is regarded as tradesperson (no offence to tradesmen)
Not a professional….
Over the years the role and value of the has been eroded.
The rich would rather pay to get their Ferrari into a dealership then haggle to get their fleet of aircraft serviced.
This erosion of value is not good for the industry.
This erosion of value has a long term effect on the future and quality of engineers.
This erosion makes it harder to attract new engineers into the field.
It makes it harder to retain good talent.

It's and there is a parking jam.
There are about 750 parking spots for planes at five area airports: LAX, Hollywood Burbank, Van Nuys, Hawthorne and Long Beach.
Private planes that can’t reserve a parking spot at one of those five airports can drop off their clients and then fly off to park at an airfield in either Santa Ana, Santa Monica or Ontario.
Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium is bringing in the jet set and charter flights are expected to crowd local airports. Here's how
