A double rainbow on the last evening of the 2019 Pura Vida Retreat!

What a magnificent treat Mama Nature gifted for us to see - it was unforgettable as was the retreat itself, the participants and all of the experiences we shared!

The Navina Centre is absolutely amazing! The accommodations, food, gardens, views, staff, excursions... we just can’t say enough about the centre as our host location!

We are so thankful!

Some days, my entire yoga practise may look like this: a series of two poses composed of balasana (child’s pose) and sukhasana (easy pose). For moments when I find myself feeling overwhelmed by what I project the day might ask of me (or what I think I should be asking of myself), it’s important to reset and ground.

Child’s pose can help calm the mind and lessen perceived feelings of anxiousness, while relieving stress and/or fatigue. I am sure we can all relate to feeling stressed out and tired!

Once I’ve reset in child’s pose (bottom photo), I spend at least 10 minutes in easy pose (top photo).

Here I focus on my breath... Deepening the inhale, steadily releasing the exhale, mindfully; in other words, I’m consciously apart of the process of my breath moving in and out of me. This invites the sensation of the breath to become more apparent so to keep me focused on my breath versus getting caught up in the gazillion thoughts and to-do lists that can come bombing through my mind. You know how that can go! 😯

Approximately 15 minutes allows for me to check in, reset and redirect my thoughts and intentions.

Give it a try when you feel that need to ground yourself and let us know how it goes for you 🙂
