I personally visited this resort in 2021 (first trip as a family after the "pause") and we really enjoyed it. There are 3 full sized waterslides (one with tubes that kids and adults can go down together on), a lazy river, a rock climbing wall, and even a roll glider (like hang gliding combined with a roller coaster). No reservations are needed for the a-la-carte restaurants and they are unlimited. Room service is unlimited, all the ice cream you can eat from coco cafe. No towel cards and unlimited towels. Top shelf alcohol and pool/beach waiter service included. Less than 30 minutes from the airport! I am still daydreaming about the french onion soup! It was that good! Thatās a wrap on Canadians 2024! š„š¾
This was the first year that 2 womenās teams were represented from Saskatchewan and the 4th year there was any womenās team represented from SK. It was a pleasure to cheer on so many talented women, and I was honoured to stand along side all of you! We may not have gotten the wins we wanted, but by showing up we are blazing a trail for many other female athletes and I canāt wait to see how it evolves over years to come. There was a lot of growth on so many levels- and for that we should all be proud.
As for me, itās time to rest this old body and catch up on a weekās worth of emails. Thanks all for your patience! š«¶š¼š„°

Itās been a full year with my wonderful assistant May Rose! She works oversees in the Philippines, 20 hours a week- often when we are sound asleep. She has learned so much this past year and when sheās on vacation I definitely notice it!

One of the best things about being a travel consultant is that the āslowerā months of the year are always June and July (by August and September the winter bookings are in full tilt)!
Itās great since I can still keep working from home with the kids out of school but also have enough down time to enjoy the hot summer days with them. This past week we enjoyed time out at Anglin lake, the Martensville pool/waterslides, ice cream from and the giant slip and slide hosted by & Warman Fire & Rescue today!
Iām pretty sure we are all appreciating this heat a little more this year after our cool and rainy start to spring. What have you been enjoying so far this summer?!

Hi everyone! I wanted to formally introduce myself to those who arenāt familiar faces.
Iām Michelle šš¼ Millennial. Former corporate monkey and cake artist. Born & raised in Saskatchewan. Mom to four fur children. After a long, and ever continuing, battle with my mental health I started to search for something that allowed me to rediscover fun because there is enough heavy in the world. Travelling allowed me to rekindle that childlike joy & wonderment, but with an adult twist.
With that in mind, I recently made a big change and have transitioned careers to become a Travel Designer. Iāve been fortunate enough that Ashley Doell with Doell Travel has taken me on as part of her team and Iām excited to learn from her & my new teammates!

Our Alaska conference was a great opportunity to get to know these suppliers better, learn their products, mix & mingle, and learn about new promos and upcoming product launches.
Last week the Doell Travel team attended an in-person event hosted by Windstar Cruises and Tourcan Vacations and we all learned a ton about their products.
This week part of our team attended the event at where we met with dozens of hoteliers (Sandals, Palace, Sirenis, Playa Resorts, Sandos, Valentin, Krystal, just to name a few) and made some key contacts that we can use to our clientsā advantage in the future!

was our host supplier this past week on board the and we were also welcomed by 51 other travel suppliers on board! What does this mean?
It means that not only can I sell you a travel product Iāve experienced firsthand, but Iāve also had dinner with the Vice President of their company. In some cases Iāve chatted about their product on the sun deck of a cruise ship, and in others I sat in on an immersive presentation. I know them, they know me- and this relationship comes in extra handy for YOU our valued consumer š

Alaska you beautiful beast š in the past 2 days I think Iāve seen it all- whales, bears, bald eagles, glaciers, lakes, oceans, mountains for miles, snowy vistas, newly budding trees, sled dogs, and even a DESERT!! We visited Skagway, British Columbia AND the Yukon all in one day. This is a destination that I think is under-rated and should be added to your bucket list!

Out of office āļøš³ļø I will be cruising on board the Ruby Princess from Vancouver to Alaska starting this evening until May 8th. I will be joining a crew of 300 travel consultants, supplier partners and head office staff to network and soak up as much info as possible š¤
I will also be joined by TWO of my team members and and I cannot wait to chat travel and spend a full week with them šš»
Little known fact- these work trips are NOT free- we invest $$ to be here because we value getting to know our supplier partners. Also, itās crucial to know the inās and outās of the travel products on the market and also knowing the face behind the email if/when we need extra support. So much changes so quickly in the world of travel and these work trips are invaluable to stay in the loop!

The world works in crazy ways! This logo popped out at me immediately as I was going through my Momās travel keepsakes.
This was the old TPI (Travel Professional International) logo which is the host that my team works under currently (we have now rebranded to Trevello).
This was the ticket jacket from the very last trip my Mom booked before I became an agent with a different host in 2015 before eventually changing hosts to TPI in 2019. This particular agent has since retired but what a blast from the past!
Also- I discovered that my Mom kept EVERY single item from every trip she took. It was all in a bag labeled with the destination and dates- but everything down to the receipt for the snack she had in the airport was in there. For the driving trips there were pages upon pages of google maps with instructions, recommended stops along the way for food, accommodation or sightseeing. Every brochure she passed by- she kept. She even calculated exact gas costs in advance and all her little notes and idea were kept š
She also kept a travel journal and wrote in it every single day of each trip. Detailed when they got up, where they ate each meal, any shows they did and what she thought of them. There was often a travel photo album to go with all these other keepsakes too š„²
She treasured these travel memories SO much š„¹. Itās so touching and just reminds me where I get my detail oriented travel planning genes from- and also why I treasure travel so much.
I just donāt keep the Pepsi receipts š«¶š¼āŗļø

Fave Family Resort: Dreams Playa Mujeres (amazing beach, waterslides for all ages, lazy river and itās hard to find a resort that comes with a day bed, table and chairs AND and whirlpool bath on your balcony- perfect hangout for when the kids are in bed!)
Bucket List Trip: I LOVE Thai food and love a good beach- pretty sure I would love Thailand and Vietnam and hope to get there someday soon.

If you had travel booked with me through Sunwing that was cancelled/affected by the pandemic then Iāve already requested your refund on your behalf.
*Perks of booking with an agent- we do all the back end work for you so you can use your time for other things!
If you havenāt seen a refund come through to your card yet hereās why:
1) Your original charge was over 18 months ago. If this is the case the transaction is archived by the bank and takes longer to process. In some cases these refunds could take up to 120 days to appear.
2) Your card expired and Sunwing needs to contact your bank to track down your new card/account.
3) You closed your account with the bank and funds will need to be sent to head office and then forwarded to you via cheque. If this is the case I will reach out to you directly.
I am still waiting on my own personal travel refund so please hang tight and be patient! It is coming, they just have a huge volume of refunds to process and it will take time ā¤ļø

My Travel Agent FAQās Revealed!
Iām asked all of these questions a LOT so figured it makes the most sense to have the answers readily available!
1. Are there fees to book with you?
The short answer is no. 95% of the products I sell are the exact same price as online; this includes all inclusive vacation packages. In some cases (ex: domestic air) my supplierās price will be the same as the online price and I will have to mark up the total to include commission for my service, but for most cases- Iām always the same price as online.
2. How do you get paid then?
Every travel product you book online has commission built into it. By booking it yourself online you are letting that company keep the commission for themselves after you did all the work. Booking via a travel agent allows us to assist with your travel plans and keep the commission- which is a win-win for booking with large tour operators and still supporting local!
3. When do you get paid?
Typically commission is paid out the month after our clients travel. Meaning that if you donāt book, or you book elsewhere, we get paid $0 for our time and effort.
4. We got quotes from another agency, could you check on trips for us too?
This is a tricky one. As all travel agents realize- you are always looking for the best vacation for the lowest possible price- so why not have 3 agents looking for you? The short answer- we are all selling the same products, and all are for the same price (with the exception of having extra group space). By doing this you are committing two extra agents to a lot of unnecessary work that they wonāt be paid for. So find an agent you like and trust, and be open and communicate what you like or donāt like about weāve suggested. Also let us know if youāre needing more quotes- thatās our job!
5. Weāve always just booked with (insert online travel site here) and found great deals. Weāve also never had issues- why should I book with you?
If youāve never had a problem arise related to travel, and have never had any questions before, during, or after travel- then congratulations- youāre among the minority! What most people donāt realize is everything you see online is at our fingertips in one monster search engine so we KNOW we are getting you the best flights, best room available, or best price for your dates. If you love searching for deals on your own- thatās great! Shop around, get an idea of what youāre looking for, then bring it to the expert to take over from there. We might see things you are missing! We will also be with you every step of the way.
6. How can I reach you?
I work from home which means Iām available almost all hours of the day, every day of the week. You can reach me via email, phone, text, Facebook messenger, or Instagram messenger and I will typically respond within an hour (but usually less). I do try to keep quoting inside āregularā business hours, but during the busy winter season you will find me booking clients during the evenings and weekends.
7. Which tour operators and companies do you sell?
I book every major tour operator, airline, hotel franchise, cruise line, car rental company, and tour company that you can imagine. The main list would be WestJet Vacations, Sunwing, Transat, Sunquest, Signature Vacations, Disney, Expedia (these are about 7 of over 200 +companies) I also have access to other travel consolidator companies that arenāt available to the general public. If you have access to book it, so does your travel agent.
8. Do you book Air B&B or Homeaway properties?
No I do not. Short term home rental is actually illegal in many parts of the U.S, and other parts of the world as well, just not enforced. This past summer they enforced these laws in Maui and it left many people scrambling last minute for new accommodations. After hearing my fair share of horror stories regarding false advertising, double booked accommodations, etc I choose to stick to major tour operators, hotel chains, and licensed vacation home rental companies. Many people also donāt realize that travel insurance doesnāt cover Air B&B type properties, as they donāt fit the proper definition of āaccommodationā. Often the savings arenāt worth the risk!
9. How do I know my booking is safe? Iāve heard of other travel agencies leaving clients high and dry.
Unlike some agencies, all of my bookings are done direct. So if we book you a Sunwing package, Sunwing will appear on your credit card statement and you will receive a client copy of your invoice from Sunwing. You will also receive an invoice from myself which is processed by Quality Control at TPI head office. We have over 800 agents Canada wide and are growing daily. I also have thousands of happy clients from over the past 5 years, and am fully committed to keeping my clients happy and growing my business!
10. Are there perks to booking with you?
Yes. Probably too many to list! But hereās a few:
a) You have an expert at your disposal to be able to answer every question under the sun. I do this full time, every day- I am a wealth of knowledge that is available to you, and I am quick to respond.
b) If ever youāre in trouble, just yelp for help! Yes Iāve watched too much Paw Patrol, but all joking aside itās much easier knowing you have someone thatās a text away at any given moment rather than trying to call 1-800 numbers from foreign countries.
c) I have access to booking some products with only a deposit and final payment 45 days prior to departure. Some companies offer a $0 deposit!
11. I want to work with someone who is an experienced traveler them self. What experience do you have?
I specialize in all inclusive vacation packages, destination weddings, and group travel. I was a destination bride myself in 2013 (prior to joining the travel industry) so I have firsthand knowledge from the brideās perspective as well as the agent perspective. I have been fortunate to be able to travel numerous times a year to various resorts and destinations. These trips have been girls trips, adult-only vacations, family trips with my babies, family trips with my young kids, and agent-only trips exploring various resorts. I have some great firsthand knowledge you can draw from!
12. Iāve been following your page but you havenāt shared any deals Iām interested in, or the dates donāt work. Do you have other deals?
If I havenāt been sharing deals itās likely because Iām so busy helping clients with their travel plans based on their unique wish list. If you want this help- let me know and I can cater a search just for you. I donāt just have āmyā deals, I have access to ALL the major suppliers/deals and when I have time I promote the good ones.
13. This all sounds great but we have credit card/airline points we like to use for travel. Can you still help us?
Yes. Some programs allow you to book travel on your own, and will reimburse your credit card once the travel is posted to your statement. In those cases- of course! In other cases (WestJet Dollars, Companion Vouchers) I typically suggest that my clients book the air on their own, and I can book the accommodations (All Inclusive or regular) as well as the airport transfers, and insurance separately.
14. Speaking of insurance- are you licensed to sell travel insurance in Saskatchewan?
Yes I am! I offer many different products through our partner- Allianz Global Assistance. I have my Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan License, Bylaws Exam, and complete continuing education annually to keep this in place. I am legally required to offer insurance to every client I book, which is a good thing because itās SO important to have adequate coverage.
