*** ✈️Things to do the Day of Your Trip🛳 ***
Before you take off on vacation it's essential to run through a pre-trip to-do list✍️. So today I want to review some of the items that need to be on it. This all seems obvious but you would not believe how many people forget to do these and run into trouble🤭.
*Starting with checking the weather 🌥 - here at home and at your destination. This will help you know what to expect on the way to the airport which of course is more important over the winter months because of snow❄️ ---- and whether or not to be on the lookout for flight delays.
*But you also need to check the weather at your destination in case you need to adjust what you plan to wear and what you have packed – like an umbrella🌂 or a rain coat🧥.
*And, check your flight status before heading to the airport --- I have seen so many people forget to do this and then end up have a long wait at the airport because of a flight delay. Even better – sign up on your airlines website for notifications on your particular flight.
*Next, just a reminder to charge all of your devices --- people seem to remember to charge things they use regularly like smartphones & tables --- it things like powerbanks & any camera batteries that seem to be forgotten most.
*Another tip...Check for any last minute changes to your itinerary like hotel reservations or car rentals. They will likely come via email so before to check before you leave the house!
*Next, check the traffic on your route to the airport. Construction and accidents can easily lead to a missed flight. So check the traffic reports and plan your departure time or alternative route accordingly.
*Finally, take some photos! Use your smart phone to take some photos of your luggage – inside & out.
If your luggage is lost these photos will help staff identify your bag and a photo of the bags contents will help you make a claim if your luggage is never found.
*It's also a good idea to take close up photos of your travel documents in case they are lost. And I recommend taking the further steps to email those pictures to yourself so you can access them in the event your phone is lost or stolen.
