I have been guiding Polar Bear trips for the past 14 years. This is one of the most dramatic and aggressive fights I have ever seen. It’s unusual to see a large male pushing that hard against a smaller male. It went on for hours.Patience paid off and after watching these two male bears sparring and resting sparring and resting they finally moved to a position that was less obstructed. This clip is long but I wanted to include the more playful wrestling as well as the aggressive combat . I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

To be able to witness such tender moments with these magnificent beasts is really something. Nursing her 2 year old cub multiple times a day while not having fed herself since she left the sea ice requires a great deal of fat stored. Mothers milk from a polar bear is 33% fat!! Then some grooming , a nap and repeat. And look at that black tongue!

In this clip you can hear the male loon calling in distress/ warning 2x. After the call, if you listen closely you can hear another loon calling in the distance. The pair were both guarding their chick closely as you can see in the final part of the video. The parents were looking both ways as well as under water.
