It's December!! Where has the year gone?

How many of you put up your advent calendar this morning? This is not one of my December traditions but I have watched friends calendars change as the families grew.

For those of you that have been following our local airport situation and fearing it could delay another winter vacation season.

Great news today!!! Saskatoon and Regina will get the go-ahead for international flights on November 30th

Happy November 1st!! Where has the time gone. Hard to believe we have only 2 months left before the end of the year. 😮

I did take a bit of a break but I was still kept busy. A trip to BC (and as you see my grandkids were keeping me occupied),❤ a milestone celebration and a move to my homebased office.

While the office move was bittersweet after so many years, I am excited to have my new office set up and I am ready to start planning your next vacation.

Happy National Beach Day!

Are you a beach bum or do you prefer hanging by the pool?

For me it depends where I'm at, but I usually enjoy a mix of both.

One of my favorite beaches is seven mile beach in Jamaica. Definitely, no pool there.

The Grand Canyon National Park is an immensely popular attraction along with being a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Carved out by the Colorado River over five million years ago, the Grand Canyon is known for breathtaking views and stunning scenery.

Visitors can hike the canyon rim, white-water raft through the river, tour the canyon via horseback, or enjoy an aerial helicopter tour of the canyon.

What’s your travel packing style?

You would think that after all the years I've been traveling I would have the packing challenge solved. NOT SO.

I still pack like I am moving and not only taking a short journey. I take everything under the sun just in case.

I have tried to pack with only a carry-on, thinking how easy it would be not having to hang around the baggage carousel. BUT no I stressed more about what I might have forgotten than saving a bit of time. Sounds like I have issues. lol

What’s your packing style? Have you got any great packing tips to share?

Are you ready for a vacation?

Are you a souvenir shopper?

Before you head to Lisbon make sure there’s some room left in your suitcase for a visit to A Vida Portuguesa.

This little gem is tucked into a side street in Chiado and you’ll find everything from artisanal blankets and ceramic to Portugeose tiles and gourmet foods, all authentic souvenirs to take home for others, and for yourself too!

How many European cities do you have on your bucket list?

Are you like me and your favorite view is looking out a plane window?

Travel is picking up again, and it is really exciting to be boarding a plane again. As exciting as it is there does come some challenges, flight cancellations and flight delays.

A few tips for travel:
- be sure to do your online check-in 24 hours prior to your trip
- always check the flight status before you head to the airport

And maybe most importantly is to hire a travel advisor. We can't resolve everything but to have your travel advisor working for you, sparing you the multi-hour on hold times is priceless.

Villefranche-sur-Mer is one of the most charming fishing villages along the French Riviera. Nestled in the heart of the Cote d’Azur, this little village is known for its old-world charm.

The village itself is perched on the side of a hill with the winding streets cascading down to the sea. For the most spectacular views, climb to the top of the town where you will be treated to a panoramic view of the Riviera.

The Trudeau government has announced they will soon require commercial air, cruise ship and train passengers to be fully vaccinated before they travel. Another step to our new normal.

What did you miss the most over the last 18 months?

I've talked to so many, that told me they missed connecting with their friends and family the most. They were looking so forward to just getting back to the simple get togethers.

This sounds like a great reason to champion a girls’ trip or a getaway with your college roommates. Get away from the daily routine and have some fun with the people who make you ugly laugh.

It's been a few weeks since my trip to New York City, but still top of mind.

New York City is filled with hidden charms for everyone, perhaps a girls trip to catch up or a romantic getaway to celebrate a special occasion.

Have you ever given any thought to WHY is it that Greenland is mostly ice and Iceland is mostly green?

Many explanations have been offered, usually along the lines of deception:

Iceland was so called to discourage others from emigrating, and on the other hand Greenland was named to attract others to resettle from Iceland.

It seems that after a Viking internal power struggle, the loser and his followers could be banished to leave on a ship to find another land, or die at sea. Thus did Leif Ericsson venture from Iceland to Greenland to found a colony, and later to reach Vinland in today’s Newfoundland.
