I’m excited to start a busy week visiting resorts in the Mayan Riviera, hosted by the AMR Collection resort chain. Together with a group of travel agents, I’ll be staying at five resorts and touring a dozen more. I love their Dreams resorts for families and Secrets resorts for couples. I can’t wait to see and experience the resorts firsthand!

Making sure my family is prepared for when the borders open again! While no date has been announced yet, with vaccinations well underway I’m hoping it’s coming within the next few months.

Now is a good time to check the expiry dates on your passports and if needed get your renewal applications submitted. Current processing time is 20 business days (plus mailing time). You don’t want an expired passport and long wait times for getting it renewed to hold you back from making travel plans once the restrictions are lifted!

P.S. Shoppers Drug Mart is currently the only option that I’ve found for getting a passport photo taken.

Last year at this time we were flying through the air on our way to Mexico for what was supposed to be a long, relaxing vacation. Ironically, it was exactly at that time that the Canadian government issued the advisory to avoid all non-essential travel. A few stressful days later, we flew back to Canada to put all my time and effort into sorting out the cancelation details for upcoming trips.

It has been a year that I never thought possible, with no international trips booked for myself or my clients. I didn’t realise how much fulfillment I got from travel, both personally and by helping others with their plans, until it was gone. Thankfully things are looking brighter for next winter with vaccinations underway!

I’ve got big hopes and dreams for when I’ll be able to help people plan special trips again, and I especially want to be of assistance in planning group vacations. I can’t think of a better way to bring friends and extended families back together again!

No doubt there will be bumps along the way to get there, but I look forward to when we can get back to flying through the air again with long, relaxing vacations going as planned!

Palace Resorts know how to take care of the little details that make a family vacation fun and easy! Current Moon Palace Cancun price for a family of four including two children up to age 17 = $5000, or $5400 to stay at The Grand at Moon Palace.
